RIP
Actor Miguel Ferrer, known for his roles in "NCIS: Los Angeles" and "Crossing Jordan" and movies including "Iron Man 3," died Thursday of throat cancer. He was 61.
"Today, NCIS: Los Angeles lost a beloved family member," said "NCIS: Los Angeles" showrunner R. Scott Gemmill said in a statement. "Miguel was a man of tremendous talent who had a powerful dramatic presence on screen, a wicked sense of humor, and a huge heart."

Throwing her to the wolves, Chrisette Michele's reps have confirmed earlier reports that the R&B singer will indeed perform at Donald Trump's inauguration this weekend. The New York Daily News first broke the story, claiming that Michelle had been booked to sing for Trump a week ago but held off on announcing her appearance allegedly over fears of being vilified to the extent that Jennifer Holliday was for her since-reversed decision to participate in the inauguration. Michele's team has now reluctantly made her gig official with confirmation to Essence: "Michelle's manager initially seemed a bit taken aback by the news and was unable to give further comment," the magazine says. According to the Daily News, she was set to join Travis Greene, Jonathan McReynolds, and Tye Tribbett to sing "Intentional," but because they turned down the offer, she was instead asked to do a solo R&B set. The Reboot - Clippers Basketball Superstar Blake Griffith, is ready for his closeup of another kind. Kenya Barris, the creator of ABC’s acclaimed comedy Black-ish, is teaming with Blake Griffin of the NBA’s Los Angeles Clippers and Ryan Kalil of the NFL’s Carolina Panthers to develop a remake of the 1992 sports comedy for 20th Century Fox.
Barris will write the script for the project, which falls under his overall film deal with Fox that he signed in September. Barris also will act as a producer.
Griffin and Kalil are producing via their Mortal Media banner, along with their partner Noah Weinstein. […]
Griffin and Kalil’s Mortal Media is a relatively new venture but is busy building an active slate with high-profile titles. Among other projects the company is developing is a remake of The Rocketeer centered around a lead that will be black and female. The company also has an NBC comedy in development.
