I'm Just Saying...
R.I.P. Lena Horne a legendary trailblazing icon who paved the way for some many stars. She was 92 years young.
She is most commonly known for a career that spanned films, radio, television, recording, nightclubs, concert halls and Broadway.
Horne started as a chorus girl and the Cotton Club in Harlem when she was 16 for $25 a week during the depression. She got a nightclub job in Hollywood that led her to a 7-year contract at MGM, where she was the first African American performer to be signed. She refused to play maids and other stereotypical roles offered to black actors and appeared in dozen of films - mostly non-speaking. Lena became best known for her song Stormy Weather and was also the first African American to appear on the cover of a movie magazine, Motion Picture.
Ms. Horne earned the Kennedy Center Honors in 1984 and received a lifetime achievement award from the National Academy of Recording Arts and Sciences in 1998. Not only was she an ground-breaking artist but civil rights activist that will not be forgotten. Rest in eternal peace beautiful lady.
Actor Laz Alonzo from 'Avatar' is dating r&b singer Olivia who use to be 50 Cent's girl.
Betty White lived up to the hype of hosting SNL this past Saturday. The actress is 88 years old, and didn't miss a beat. Past female cast members made cameo's in her honor, Tina Fey, Molly Shannon, Maya Rudolph, Amy Poehler and Ana Gasteyer all dropped in on the fun!
Loser wanksta r&b singer Bobby Brown has gotten engaged to his 'new' baby momma. May they live happily ever after. Ole girl obviously isn't very bright. If Brown doesn't pay child support to his zillion kids, what kind of provider is her really going to be? I'm still SMH
Journalist Barbara Walters is going to have heart surgery. The legendary reporter made the announcement today.
Iron Man 2 was the number #1 movie @ the box office raking in $133.6 million domestically on its opening weekend.
