Letter To Clive Davis ...
WHACK WHACK WHACK!!! Clive Davis clearly its time for you to have a seat (many). I've seen Whitney Houston LIVE in concert over 15 times. Hell I even recorded her first concert as a headliner, in 86/87 and its a GEM. You should have enough footage of her LIVE in concert performances, that would allow you to do Whitney Justice, this sh*t that you're bolstering about is at best good for the 'NOVICE' Whitney fan, (all of those performances are available on youtube) not the true diehards. I could provide you a REAL song list, that WOULD sell millions, one that would capitalize on this great woman's voice, music and legacy. Once again, you've managed to out due yourself in the DISAPPOINTMENT department. #Disgusted

I totally agree. It does her no REAL justice. Just enough to win over those who doubt her or gain her some new fans. HOPEFULLY, this is the first of MANY CD/DVD's of her live performances, with the rare ones coming next.

ReplyDeleteClive is not clueless and what most of you don't realize is that the casual Whitney Houston fans have not seen many of those performances on the DVD. Not everybody sits and watches Whitney Houston on end for hours and hours like we do. No die hard fan will ever be pleased because we all like something different. Since the announcement of this DVD I have heard over 4 people give 6 different version of I Will Always Love You they would use instead. We all want different things....so get over it!
ReplyDeleteClive was the conduit for the world to enjoy Whitney and hear her inimitable voice. You should be embarrassed with this post. Whitney loved Clive...out of respect for her, shut your mouth. The man should be canonized.
ReplyDeleteI STILL want MORE and I'm not a NOVICE fan. My opinions are my own, and I stand by them. For anyone not familiar with Whitney's voice and catalog, the LIVE cd will be a great introduction. For the avid Whitney fan, this is a let down, no gospel, which she loved, no tributes which she loved, no duets, which she loved, no rarities and no bonuses.

To be a fan and think that Clive was as close to WHITNEY as he portrays is really sad. If that's the case she wouldn't have been FORCED... Yes FORCED to tour when she clearly wasn't ready. Will I buy and support the release? Yes... Do I think it was the best selections? NO
