MJ's ' Xscape' debuts at #1

The King of Pop - Michael Jackson's 'Xscape' Opus becomes his Seventh #1 album, just edging out The Black Keys for the #1 coveted position. It was the closest race for the #1 position in recent years, Jackson's 'Xscape' sold 161,909 units, about 500 more copies than the Black Keys 'Turn Blue' project. L.A, Reid curated this masterpiece, though not the opening numbers of his other posthumous CD 'Michael' back in 2011, which sold a healthy 200,000 plus copies in its debut week. For us fans its a bittersweet moment, while yes we're happy for the new music, but we would be MUCH happier if Michael were still here, producing his brilliant Epics. His record label and Estate are the ones who are benefitting the most, thats the travesty of this release. Personally with that being said, I think 'Xscape' is a very solid project through and through, its a lovely throwback to the '80's when he ruled the charts and could do no wrong. #foreverlovingMJ

Ciara artwork for new CD revealed

It's no secret that Ciara is one of my favorites.  I've been on board with her from the very beginning.  This industry is full of sharks, and jealous competitors, who will sometimes pay radio stations NOT to play certain artist that they are intimidated by.  With that being said Ciara is 'still' in the game, but barely.  Here's hoping that L.A. Reid her record label president, (who originally signed her back in her  One Two Step days, where she enjoyed triple platinum sales) will see to it that radio is ON board and properly promote and play her music this time around.  Good luck Ci-Ci you're a beautiful fabulous HOT babe.

Chris Brown's "Fine China" one take dance routine ...

Chris Breezy Brown is a master of dance and visualization.  His new single "Fine China" was done in one take, NOW that's what I call a true artist, the boy can dance his ASS off, and no one can deny that.  Breezy is truly channeling the Legendary Iconic Superstar Michael Jackson, and I'm sure that MJ is smiling down."Fine China" is officially my favortite song of the moment. New music from the late Teena Marie

Teena Marie posthumous new single "Luv Letter" is classic Lady Tee.  It's sad to think that we'll never get to witness her artistry live anymore, but the legacy that she left will live on as any immortal does.  "Luv Letter" showcases the easy breezy way of Marie, and it's clear why she has legions of fans 'still' mourning her loss. RIP

December 12 - 2012 - Wiz Khalifa

Wiz Khalifa debuts @ #2 with his lastest CD .. ONIFC = Only N*gga In First Class.  This young man is brilliant.  He has swagg, and well I think he's just interesting to follow.  This day is special and once in a liftetime to witness, I also think we're witnessing Wiz at the top of his game, and that's a once in a lifetime thing too.  Strike while the Iron is hot.  He's engaged to his fiance' Amber Rose, yes Kanye's ex, and he's about to become a father any day now, so life is all gravy right now.  He's articulate with something to say, and  he loves his parents, and comes from a very strong background in Philadephia, his song "Black and Yellow" help the Pittsburgh Steelers to win a SuperBowl.

Tamar Braxton ... Love & War #1 on iTunes

No longer in the shadow Tamar Braxton with the moniker she me her, as immature and dumb as that lingo may sound, it works for her.  The youngest sister of singer Toni Braxton, Tamar is finally making her way front and center.  She released her single "Love and War" on December 6th within 24 hours it had reached #1 on iTunes.  It's been a looooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooong time coming, after a few false starts, with songs that didn't connect with the American public and record labels, who didn't back and promote her enough.
The buzz started for Tamar when her family's reality series The Braxtons became the most successful reality show for the WE network. Then Tamar did a reality series with her husband Vincent Herbert, who produces and managers Lady Gaga. Taking the reality route Tamar was able to show America her over the top personality, which tends to be TOO much, but when you get past all of that crazy dramatic nonsense, when she gets down to the business of singing, she's quite talented and deservant of a real try at superstardom.  "Love and War" is smoking hot r&b song and she sings the hell out of it.  If her first single is any indication of what's to come, she's going to be very successful, FINALLY and rightfully so.

Alicia Key's is back with a 'New Day'

Alicia Keys is coming back with a bang this summer. The Grammy-winning superstar celebrates life on “New Day,” the first release off her upcoming fifth album, due later this year. The triumphant anthem sounds like it was produced by her husband Swizz Beatz.

Whether I rise or fall, I’m gonna give it my all/ Party people say, ‘Ay, it’s a new day!’” sings Alicia over the drum-heavy instrumental.

The 31-year-old singer can’t wait to share her music with her fans. “I’ve come to this place that the album is about to be ready and I feel just so crazy excited,” she said. “It’s like I’m a different person. I’m a new person. Everything is new.”

A Star Is Born ....... Frank Ocean

The love that I have for music always motivates me to soar to the highest heights. Music is my constant 'go to' when all else fails it's there for me, it doesn't disappoint. The feelings of goosebumps keeps it very real for me, and it's rare that I get these feelings, but when I do, it tells me that greatness is about to be realized and revealed. I've had these feelings when Teena Marie, Whitney, Rahsaan Patterson, D'Angelo, Lauryn Hill, Erykah Badu, Amy Winehouse and Adele all came on the scene, and all their greatness has been realized, I feel that same exact about newcomer "Frank Ocean" who will release his debut CD "Channel Orange" on 7/17/12, his single "Thinking About You" is a little slice of heaven here on earth. Get into him you wont be disappointed. #greatnewartistinthemaking

Finally, WHITNEY's 'I Look To You' is here!!

Pop Legend Icon Whitney Houston's first studio CD in seven years, drops today. "I Look To You" is her first release of all new material. For those of you who are expecting the Whitney Houston of 25 years ago, WAKE UP and LET IT GO!!! No one stays the same, well few stay the same, you have Gladys Knight and Patti LaBelle whose voices are 'still' golden.

Whitney has been to hell and back, and though I don't think this CD really tells the story of true triumph, it does tell the story of someone humbling themselves and admitting to being human. For anyone else this CD would be a triumph, but for Ms. Houston with a big budget, and a high profile return. I think Clive Davis didn't really do her justice. At the end of the day, someone like Whitney Houston shouldn't have to give in to today's trends or gimmicks.

The current day best selling female is Beyonce' Knowles, who STILL can't touch Whitney Houston vocal wise, and when Whitney was Knowles age, she was singing miles around her, with that said. music has drastically changed. To sell two million copies these days is considered a monster hit, well back in the day Ms. Houston sold a million copies in one week. Some 170 millions copies later, she back in the game.

Some worthy numbers are "Worth It", "Calling You Tonight", "I Got You", "Million Dollar Bill" and her remake of Leon Russell's "A Song For You" which has been turned into a dance number, and it actually works, and could work even better with a proper remix, which would make it a bonafide club banger.

This CD sets up for what Whitney will follow it up with, maybe that will be the real test of her focus and rehab. I for one am rooting for her, I like the CD, but I was expecting pure pop, and lesser named producer's to make a artist who is already a superstar, succumb to their ideas of what should or should not work for her. Whitney always says that the 'record isn't over yet', and I believe her, with proper care for her instrument, I do think she will win, as I said before I'm rooting for her.
