Flashback Who's That ...
Can you imagine being offered the opportunity. to be the First Lady of a 'then' new label 'LaFace' records, and turning it down (Toni Braxton thanks you) only to sign with another start up label 'Silas' records. Thats the kind of 'questionable' choices that singer, songwriter Chanté Torrane Moore made coming into this industry. We were first introduced to this lovely beauty's voice on the 'Candlelight and You' duet with singer Keith Washington, from the House Party II soundtrack. Her silky voice wet our appetite for 'more' from MOORE! She grew up in San Francisco, California, gigging around the Bay Area. In 1992 she released her debut album 'Precious' and released her first single the seductive 'Love's Taken Over'. Her debut went 'Gold' and to this day remains, a quiet storm staple. Moore never received the attention that her voice and face deserves. A fews years after her debut 'precious' we saw the lukewarm reception to her followup album 'A Love Supreme' which went nowhere.
Silas records was trying to convince Moore that she made the right decision by choosing Silas, mind you by this time Toni Braxton was now a bonafide SUPERSTAR. Her label decided to hire 'hit' producer Rodney Jerkins, everything he touched turned to gold and platinum. Her third album 'This Moment Is Mine' was completed, Silas tried to decide on the first single between 'If I Gave Love' or 'Chante's Got A Man', they opted for the latter. Jerkins being the hot producer, everyone wanted him, to work with their artist including Sean Combs' who was working on Jennifer Lopez's debut.
Puffy heard and loved the track 'If You Had My Love' and wanted it for Lopez, only thing was, that track belonged to Moore. Combs insisted that Jerkins write a track like that for Lopez, it was entitled 'If You Had My Love' it was the 'same' song. Silas was still working 'Chante's got a Man' for Moore, Lopez's label Columbia records serviced her debut single to radio, it went to #1 in June 1999, before Silas could release Moore's second single, talk about bad timing. It was downhill from there. Her fourth and final release for 'Silas' records was entitled 'Expose', Moore had married and divorced actor Kadeem Hardison and was clearly 'bitter'. Three years later Moore was happy about life again, she married singer Kenny Lattimore and released a duets album 'Things That Lovers Do' on Arista records. It was was well received, their followup tanked, so did their marriage.
Since then Moore has become an Independent artist releasing two self financed projects and a victim or ratchet reality television, starring in Hollywood Divas:LA. One thing that can not be denied is Moore's dynamic voice, she's one of the most talented vocalist in the business, with a great work ethic.

Brown Sugar
Singers, Actress, Model and Author Marsha Hunt was what you would call a badass no time for games, type of a female, which was rare in the sixties. That probably added to what drove Mick Jagger of the Rolling Stones into her bed screaming for 'Satisfaction' from this 'Brown Sugar'. The Stones singer started an affair with Marsha, under the nose of his then-girlfriend Marianne Faithfull. He became so obsessed with Marsha, he wrote the song 'Brown Sugar' in tribute to her. The hot and heavy couple had a love child in 1970 named 'Karis' she's 44 years old. Hunt and Jagger's relationship grew salty, when she was pregnant, to the point where the Rolling Stones lead singer denied being the father, and wanted nothing to do with his child. After a long court battle, which Hunt eventually won. Jagger known for being very frugal was not a happy camper. Jagger met his daughter when she was twelve years old. Today the father and daughter have a fairly close relationship. Earlier this year when her Jagger's designer girlfriend L'Wren Scott committed suicide, it was 'Karis' who handled the funeral arrangements, and consoled her father. He stayed at her house during the time of the funeral services.
Hunt is a remarkable woman, she battled cancer in 2005 and won, she has written several novels, and also a Memoir. Most people always want to talk about her past relationship with Jagger, which she rarely does. She credits herself for 'Karis' normal upbringing, away from the flashily life of fame and drugs. Marsha known for her gigantic hair, when diagnosed with cancer, she underwent chemotherapy, she opted to cut it off rather than watch it fall out. After cutting off her tresses, she decided to keep it very short, and sometimes bald. Today she lives abroad in France, and has no desire to look back, to a time when she was young girl growing up in Philadelphia.

Hillary in 2016??
With the results of the recent Election, where the repulican party, took back the GOP. Does Hillary Clinton stand a chance of winning the Presidency in 2016?
The Republican Party secured an electoral sweep Tuesday that made it America’s dominant party, not just in Washington but in states around the U.S. On Wednesday, it began trying to define the kind of governing party it wants to be.
The election results reinforced the party’s basic conservative identity—formed by the governors and members of Congress elected in 2010 and the new crop of officials elected this week.
Was America disillusion this week??? Does Hillary Clinton have a fighting chance in 2016? Your thoughts????
