Complexity/TGIF

Happy Friday everyone, ... Let's Talk about It!!

The answers may change until you get it right, true experience is the best teacher, and learning valuable lessons, may be the hardest shells to crack.  You owe it to yourself to fully press forth, its your right.  Being unapologetic is standing strong by your convictions, which is about strength in character, not everyone will understand, nor should they.  This walk was uniquely designed with purpose. specifically for you, and rightfully so.  Testimony comes from strain, thats how we breakthrough.

Individuality has its own uniqueness, and Is very liberating.  Understanding your option, of not just going along with the group, it shows you think for yourself, and aren't afraid of the consequences.   Complexity is just that, a difference, Ideas, Concepts and Principles, some view it as being difficult or strong willed.  As complexities go I can be difficult (we all can) I'm very grateful to those who love me in spite of myself, at times I can be a lot to put up with.   I say if you can prove a point or perhaps show me a different way that is plausible, Im in full support of being led, on the days that I may fall short.  In effect mode is constantly seeking ways to sharpen your skills.  The brain is God given and our finest tool, we must keep feeding the machine.

What Are You Doing With Your Life?

Covers - Lauryn Hill

Covers - Lauryn Hill is a part of Hip Hop royalty. Her 'Misseducation' spoke to a nation, and empowered women to champion their own, dreams, desires and gave them strength to demand what they wanted out of their relationships and set the guidelines to their boundaries. Hill's 'Misseducation' was an EPIC time in music and one of those rare moments where a female won the Grammy for 'Album Of The Year'.

Flashback Who's That ...

Hard to believe that its been over fourteen years since Michael Eugene Archer better known by his stage name D'Angelo, got every female and 'some' males panties wet, with his 'How Does It Feel' Video.  D'Angelo is an American R&B and neo soul singer-songwritermulti-instrumentalist and record producer.  He is known for his production and songwriting talents as much as for his vocal abilities, and often draws comparisons to his influences, Marvin Gaye, and Prince.  D'Angelo was one of the most influential artists during the rise of the neo soul movement.  His debut album 'Brown Sugar' was released in 1995 contained four singles, including the gold-selling Hot 100 hit "Lady" and R&B top-ten singles "Brown Sugar", "Cruisin'" and my personal favorite 'When We Got By'. The album was certified platinum by the Recording Industry Association of America, selling over 1.5 million copies in the U.S.   Battling personal demons has kept D'Angelo in and out of the spotlight for several years at at time, he fathered a child with r&b singer Angie Stone, and several drug arrests.  Currently he's in the studio working on his long awaited followup to 'Voodoo'.  After several failed attempts his record label promises to have a new full length project in the marketplace by the end of this year, but in the meantime 'Brown Sugar' and 'Voodoo' are still 'timeless' pieces of art.  His covers of Eddie Kendricks 'Girl, You Need A Change Of Mind' and the Ohio Players 'Heaven Must Be Like This' are cult favorites. Whats undeniable is the fact that he's respected by his peers, and possesses a talent that can not be denied.

New Breed - George Tandy Jr

George Tandy, Jr's debut radio release "March", reached a historical  #3 on the  Billboard Adult R&B Chart.  George creates brilliant music that is rich with honesty, vulnerability and raw emotion. You can call it R&B, Folk Music or even call it Jazz.  Some call it Soul, with a hint of Hip Hop and note his Classical music influences. No matter what you call it, you are correct every time. George personally prefers to call his music "SOULternative." #GeorgeTandyJr
