Superbowl Sunday - Let's Go!!!
Who do you think will be the champions of the NFL this year the Baltimore Ravens or the San Francisco 49ers? I'm from San Francisco hence the helmet below, however I wouldn't have a problem if the Ravens won, this is Ray Lewis last year playing pro ball, he has had an amazing career, so it would be cool to see him go out on top. Deep truth moment for me is seeing the half-time show, I'm hoping Mrs. Carter can make me eat my words, by giving us the best 12 minutes of her life, in a kick ass powerhouse performance that leaves us gasping. That's what I really want to see .... so let the games and halftime show begin. Leggo!!
Congratulations to Baltimore Ravens 34-31 and especially Ray Lewis, what a nice way to retire, by going out on Top. This year's Superbowl with the Blackout was a little suspect, but I'm glad that the Ravens pulled themselves together. I'll always be a San Francisco boy at heart, but tonight I was happy for the Ravens.

Clippers making Lakers give respect ..
Kobe Bryant days are numbered. The Los Angeles Clippers by the city of Los Angeles were always considered a second rate Basketball team in comparison to the GODLY viewed Lakers franchise. Don't get me wrong, theLos Angeles Lakers are a great organization and deserve the recognition. Somewhere the focus got lost, it stopped being about a team of players and starting being about a player (Bryant) which clearly in my opinion was the downfall. Bryant was so focused on chasing Michael Jordan's record that he lost his focus which was being a basketball team leader, a few years back, he fought with then Laker coach Phil Jackson, it was always everyone fault but his.
The Clippers were on a 18 games win streak, until losing to Denver, they took on the Lakers last night and the winning streak started all over again. Chris Paul and Blake Griffin helped the Clippers to defeat the Lakers 107-102. Paul had 30 points and 13 assists, Griffin added 24 points, and the Clippers led all the way in a victory on Friday night, giving them two wins in two games this season against their Staples Center co-tenants. Los Angeles finally has an even balance with the luxury of taking pride in both franchises, as it should be. Remember the race is not won by the swiftest, it's about the enderance til the end.

Allen Iverson 150 million dollars gone ...
Basketball great Allen Iverson says he blows a lot on OTHER expenses too ... like $10,000/month on clothes, $10,000/month on grocery/house items, $1,000/month on dry cleaning, $5,000/month on entertainment, $5,000/month on restaurants ... and so on. All in all, Iverson -- who reportedly made over $150 MILLION during his NBA career -- says he ends up in the hole each month to tune of $295,876.66. Ouch. Despite the mounting debt though, he's still got his Maybach (which is fully paid off) ... and reportedly worth between $340k - $400k.

KC Chiefs player kills gf and himself ...
Kansas City Chiefs linebacker Jovan Belcher shot and killed his girlfriend early this morning, then drove to the team facility and committed suicide in front of his coach and general manager, this according to the Kansas City Police Department. Police Capt. David Lindaman says that Belcher and his girlfriend -- who had just given birth to the couple's child three months earlier -- began arguing around 7:00 AM local time. Lindaman says Belcher shot the woman multiple times and she was later pronounced dead at a local hospital. Police says the girlfriend's mother witnessed the shooting.
Police say Belcher left the scene and drove to the stadium where he was confronted by team personnel, including GM Scott Pioli and head coach Romeo Crennel. According to police, they tried to keep Belcher from committing additional acts of violence. Just as police arrived on the scene, they heard a gunshot and discovered Belcher had shot himself in the head. Cops say before firing the shot, Belcher thanked Pioli and Crennel for all they had done for him. The coaches told police they never felt as if they were in danger.
Belcher had been with the Chiefs for four seasons after being undrafted out of the University of Maine.
The Chiefs host the Carolina Panthers tomorrow and the game will be going forward as planned. A team spokesman says Crennel plans to coach. Kansas City Chiefs Chairman & CEO Clark Hunt released a statement saying, "The entire Chiefs family is deeply saddened by today's events, and our collective hearts are heavy with sympathy, thoughts and prayers for the families and friends affected by this unthinkable tragedy. We sincerely appreciate the expressions of sympathy and support we have received from so many in the Kansas City and NFL communities, and ask for continued prayers for the loved ones of those impacted.
Kansas City Chiefs linebacker Jovan Belcher and girlfriend Kasandra Perkins were an extremely happy couple ... this according to Kasandra's family, who says news of the alleged murder/suicide this morning came as an "utter shock." Members of Kasandra's family tell TMZ ... Jovan and Kasandra always seemed to be in love. In fact, we're told when Kasandra got pregnant, she and Jovan were "ecstatic." The family says ever since the baby was born in September, the two couldn't have seemed happier together. The 22-year-old's family says they have NO IDEA why the relationship took a tragic turn this morning -- when Jovan allegedly shot and killed Kasandra before taking his own life -- and news of their deaths was both devastating and unexpected.
Jovan started playing with the Chiefs in 2009 -- and Kasandra, who is originally from Texas moved to Missouri to be with him.

Andy Murray a Grand Champion at USOPEN!
Andy Murray has won the first Grand Slam title of his career, besting defending U.S. Open champion Novak Djokovic in an instant Flushing Meadows classic that stretched five sets and nearly as many hours. Murray's U.S. Open triumph makes him the first British man to win a Grand Slam singles crown since Fred Perry captured the 1936 U.S. Championships at Forest Hills.
The 25-year-old from Scotland won the first set (7-6) after a historic 22-point tiebreaker, the longest tiebreak in U.S. Open final history. After breaking Djokovic to win the second set, 7-5, Murray stood on the precipice of history. Not so fast...
Defending with ferocity and making frequent attacking forays toward the net, Djokovic stormed back into the match, winning the third (6-2) and fourth (6-3) sets to force a decisive winner-take-all fifth set. The sentimental favorite at the start of the match due to his paucity of Grand Slam hardware, Murray surrendered control of the match and the crowd -- who roared for the improbable comeback bid. As noted by Reuters and others, no one had lost in the U.S. Open men's final after winning the first two sets since Pancho Gonzalez stormed back to defeat Ted Schroeder in 1949. Having lost in his four previous trips to a Grand Slam singles final, it seemed that Murray might cement his runner-up reputation with an epic collapse. Instead, the fifth set produced a memorable display of physical and mental resolve and a career-defining moment for Murray. After all 315 points in the match had been played -- 160 won by Murray and 155 for Djokovic (via @USOpen) -- the year scratched from the "not since" list was 1936 instead 1949.
"Novak is so, so strong. He fights until the end in every single match," Murray said after the match, according toThe Associated Press. "I don't know how I managed to come through in the end."

Serena Williams US OPEN 2012 CHAMPION!
Serena Williams has won her 15th Grand Slam title by winning the US OPEN Grand Slam Female title.
Finally tested, even trailing, at the U.S. Open, Serena Williams turned things around just in time.
Two points from defeat, Williams suddenly regained her composure and her strokes, coming back to win the last four games and beat top-ranked Victoria Azarenka 6-2, 2-6, 7-5 on Sunday night for her fourth championship at Flushing Meadows and 15th Grand Slam title overall.
Serena Williams celebrates after winning her fourth U.S. Open singles trophy Sunday, beating Victoria Azarenka in three sets.
"I honestly can't believe I won. I really was preparing my runner-up speech, because I thought, `Man, she's playing so great," Williams said during the trophy presentation after the 2-hour, 18-minute match, adding: "I'm really shocked."
Might be the only one.
After all, what really was stunning was that Azarenka made things as interesting as they were, given that she came into the day 1-9 against Williams over their careers.
Add in that Williams hadn't dropped a set in the tournament, losing only 19 games through six matches before Sunday. All part of a tremendous run she is putting together in reaction to her loss at the French Open in late May, the American's only first-round exit in 49 career major tournaments. Since then, she is 26-1, winning Wimbledon and the London Olympics.
There hadn't been a three-set women's final in New York since 1995, and Williams came through with a late charge to become the first woman to win Wimbledon and the U.S. Open in the same season since a decade ago, when -- yes, that's right -- she did it

Tennis player Andy Murray, got his heart broken just one month ago at Wimbledon All England Club, when he lost the Championship finals match to Roger Federer, you just had to feel for him, he was crying on the court, because he wanted it so badly. Today Murray can put all of that behind him, as he rose to the occasion to beat the 17 time grand Champion Federer in straight sets 62 61 64. Murray had the pressure of his entire London country weight on his shoulders. Today he can finally satisfy their demands, by giving his country their first gold medal since 1912. Congrats Andy!!

Wimbledon 2012 Begins ......... Lets' Go!!!
Five time Wimbledon Champion Venus Williams returns to the arena that has brought her so many fond memories. The powers that be meaning the organizers of Wimbledon have done the unthinkable, she is unseeded, which is the biggest insult. To win 5 Wimbledon championships in the tennis world, where more than 80 percent of the players who have never won 1 of the convenant trophies, seems mind boggling to me, yet it's true. Just another affirmation of racism at its best. It's 2012, and we still have MUCH work to do.
The Williams sisters single handedly changed the game of tennis, and brought attention to the masses about the game.

Venus and Serena Williams are playing singles as well as doubles this year, and I have a sneaky suspicion that when the tournament gets to the finals, one of the Williams sisters if not both will be competing AGAIN for the covenant prize. So let's GO!
