In White Folks News ...

Former "Law & Order" director, Jason "Jace" Alexander, plead guilty Tuesday in his child porn case.

Alexander plead guilty to two charges in a Westchester County court, which included promoting a sexual performance by a child and possessing an obscene performance by a child.

42 year old Alexander, who directed multiple episodes of Law & Order,  was arrested last summer after an investigator tracked child porn back to his IP address.

"A forensic examination of computers and external hard drives removed from the location revealed digital files of children who are less than sixteen years of age engaged in child pornography," Westchester County District Attorney Janet DiFiore said in a statement last July.

Jason Alexander faces up to 7 years in prison and is scheduled for sentencing in early May. Alexander is known for his work on The Blacklist, The Tomorrow People, Raising Hope, Lipstick Jungle, Royal Pains, Rescue Me, Burn Noticeand Lizzie McGuire, and of course 32 episodes of Law & Order.

Final Bow - Glenn Frey

Final Bow - The Eagles was one of my favorite groups of all time.  Glenn Frey, Eagles guitarist, has died at the age of 67 in New York.   The founding member of the US rock group had been suffering from intestinal problems for several months and had surgery in November.
The band announced his death on their website.
“Glenn fought a courageous battle for the past several weeks but, sadly, succumbed to complications from rheumatoid arthritis, acute ulcerative colitis and pneumonia,” a statement read.
“The Frey family would like to thank everyone who joined Glenn to fight this fight and hoped and prayed for his recovery.
Words can neither describe our sorrow, nor our love and respect for all that he has given to us, his family, the music community and millions of fans worldwide.”
Frey was born in Detroit and moved to Los Angeles with his then girlfriend in the late 1960s and began writing songs and performing. He briefly shared an apartment with Jackson Browne, with whom he wrote many songs.
After meeting Henley in 1970, the pair formed Eagles and released their self-titled debut two years later.
The band was wildly successful in the 1970s, selling some 100m albums in the US alone, and a further 50m worldwide.

The 1976 release Hotel California is perhaps their best known, although the Greatest Hits album of the same year was, for a time, the best-selling album in US music history, certified platinum 29 times..

Frey had a successful solo career in the 1980s with hits including The Heat Is On, which featured on the soundtrack to the Eddie Murphy film Beverly Hills Cop, and You Belong to the City from the TV show Miami Vice.
His most recent album, After Hours, was released in 2012.

Empire Season 3

Season 3 - Empire received the GREEN Light for Season 3.  The show seems to have lost a little of its steam, going in many directions.  I say to lose the damn cameo guest star appearances and focus on the main characters like in Season 1.

Fox TV Group chairmen Gary Newman and Dana Walden announced at the top of the network’s TCA presentation.
News of the renewal comes just days after Taraji P. Henson, who stars as Cookie Lyon, won her first Golden Globe. Empire was the only broadcast show nominated in the major drama or comedy categories at the award show.

According to Variety: Though down from the peak ratings it saw late in its first season, “Empire” remained the top-rated broadcast series in adults 18-49 during the first half of its second season. In the fall it averaged a 7.3 rating in the demo and 17.7 million viewers overall, according to Nielsen’s “live plus-7” estimates. It also ranks as the most-tweeted broadcast TV series.
At this time, there is no word on returning cast members. Taraji currently stars alongside Terrence Howard – while Jussie Smollett, Bryshere “Yazz” Gray, Trai Byers, Grace Gealey, Kaitlin Doubleday, Gabourey Sidibe, Ta’Rhonda Jones and Serayah McNeill round out the cast.

Empire returns March 30 for the second half of Season 2. Congrats to the cast and crew

Happy Birthday Grandmother

Happy Birthday Grandmother Oleava.  I had the good fortune to have had three strong women (Oleava, Zilpha & Hazel) in my life, who ministered to me about GOD, strength, love, honesty, values, morals, gratitude, honor and decency.   My Grandmother Oleava was a strong Businesswoman, she was firm and direct and absolutely NO nonsense, that part rubbed off on me.  She has gone on to glory now, but I carry her in my heart for always.  Thanks Grandmother for loving me unconditionally.  Gone be can never be forgotten.

Whitney the Teacher, Adele ...

The Student.  Charts DO not lie.  Here's some Chart History, yes Adele is currently breaking records, and seemingly has revived the record buying public .... BUT let's not forget Legacy and HISTORY!!!
Read on and ROCK string!!

Adele’s 25 becomes the first album by a woman to spend its first seven weeks at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 chart since 1987 ...
'The only other album by a woman to chart its first seven weeks at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 was Whitney Houston’s second album, Whitney, which bowed atop the list dated June 17, 1987, and ruled for 11 straight frames (through the chart dated Sept. 5). Whitney was also the first album by a woman to debut at No. 1 (in an era when the chart was tabulated through ranked reports that retailers submitted to Billboard).'

Remembering ...

Remembering - Her style and Grace!!! Her legacy will live on.  Nat and Natalie UNITED again.  Truly Unforgettable.

Natalie Cole -- one of the great voices in decades -- has died ... TMZ has learned.

Cole, whose hits include "This Will Be" and "Unforgettable" which she performed as a virtual duet with dad Nat King Cole -- died from congestive heart failure, although we're told the underlying medical issues were complications from a kidney transplant and Hepatitis C.

Natalie had been very sick recently, cancelling several tour dates in late December including a New Year's Eve concert at Disney Hall in L.A. She also cancelled an upcoming February concert due to illness.

Natalie struggled with substance abuse and was plagued with health problems, suffering from liver disease in 2008. She also underwent chemo for Hepatitis C.

Natalie, who was married 3 times and has a son, was 65.

She died in a Los Angeles hospital.

Rest In Peace!!!
