Rihanna - No Apologies

Singer Rihanna is on the cover of the new Rolling Stone magazine on newsstands January 31-13. The singer gives a heart felt interview revealing that she and Chris Brown are back together and that their love is stronger than ever and that she's making no apologies for following her heart. Below is some excerpts from her interview with the magazine.

On being mad at Chris Brown for a really long time: ”I wanted him to know what it felt like to lose me. To feel the consequences of that. So when that (stuff) came back it hit me like a ton of bricks. Like, God, you’ve got to be kidding right now. But I got real with myself, and I just couldn’t bury the way I felt.”

On people being upset about her reunion with Chris Brown: ”When you add up the pieces from the outside, it’s not the cutest puzzle in the world. You see us walking somewhere, driving somewhere, in the studio, in the club, and you think you know. But it’s different now. We don’t have those types of arguments anymore. We talk about (stuff). We value each other. We know exactly what we have now, and we don’t want to lose that.”

On people being worried about her with Chris Brown: ”I know. And trust me – it makes me feel great to know that people care. I guess it’s just something that will show with time. There’s nothing I could say that would convince you right now. But we’re in a great place. And I can’t ever see us going back.”

On how much she will put up with from Chris Brown going forward: ”Listen, I’ll tell you right now: I don’t have to take it. If he gives me that again, here’s what I give him: nothing. I just walk away. He doesn’t have that luxury of (expletive) up again. That’s just not an option. I can’t say that nothing else will go wrong. But I’m pretty solid in knowing that he’s disgusted by that. And I wouldn’t have gone this far if I ever thought that was a possibility.”

Hollywood the double standard - My Take

Heart throbs Usher, Justin Timberlake and Chris Brown are carrying the torch of Elvis Presley, Chuck Berry, James Brown and Michael Jackson.  These gentleman have giant footsteps to fill, if they can do it.  Hollywood is a fame game, with fame comes insecurities, the greater the fame, the larger your insecurities become, the bigger your entourage gets, and the real core people who kept you grounded seem to have disappeared because you no longer want to hear the truth, you only want to hear the things that will pump your ego, better known as 'yes' people.  The entertainment industry is a business FIRST, and few realize that.  For a black artist the rules are totally different, you're not granted complete access, things change for you if you're a full cross-over artist, but the vulchers lay and wait for you to make a mistake, then  you're considered a criminal, a hoodlum or a thug, like most of the world views the plight of the misunderstood black man.  When you're in the public eye like it or not, you have a responsibility and you must govern yourself according.  You are now held to a different standard, people are in your face, in your business, and to top it off, your performances can not fail.  With all that said scrutiny will become a part of your life.  If this ever gets to be too much for you, remember this is the career path that you choose. 

The Entertainment field is built on image and is largely for the youth, to a 14 year old, a 24 year old is pretty much considered over the hill if you can believe that.  To stay relevant, entertainers 'teams' will spin it however they see fit, to generate interest and stay vital.  Usher Raymond's mega selling "Confessions" was populated by 'scandal' at the time the CD was released, he had just admitted to cheating, his relationship with Chili from the group "TLC".  Sharing all the good and bad of that relationship helped him to become the biggest selling r&ampb star of the decade selling over 10 million copies.  Unfortunately his star has deemed somewhat, which I think it owed to the constant marketing manipulation of his team and his marriage and divorce scandal and a 'then' new comer Chris Brown coming on the scene and capturing the hearts of America with his terrific dance moves.

Chris Brown is a charismatic artist who had America eating out of his hands, he had crossover hits, charm, appeal and packaging.  Clearly he is the current day best male dancer in the business, surpassing Usher Raymond's throne, very reminiscent of the great legendary Michael Jackson.  The world seemed to be his, he was all over the charts, had endorsement deals, money, fame and Rihanna on his arm as his girlfriend.  Then one February night in 2009, his world came crashing down, a 911 call came in from Rihanna saying that she had been beaten by Chris Brown, then ALL hell broke loose. The endorsements ended, the media scrutinized him, and the music stop.  His followers who were of all nationalities abandoned him with the exception of the black community.  He now has a reputation of being a hot head, constantly getting into trouble with an uncontrollable temper.  A court order injunction to do community service and to attend anger management counseling sessions. He and Rihanna had a court order that kept them away from each other for over three years.  In that time he worked on rebuilding his career, he released F.A.M.E. in February of 2011, it debut at #1.  He and Rihanna became friendly again and recorded several songs together AND have been rumored to be dating again, along with his jumpoff that doesn't seem to be going away anytime soon.  Brown is still a ticking time bomb, so we will see how it all plays out,  and NOW comes the new incident of the brawl with him and Frank Ocean ..... Chris wtf is going on with you?  I'm clearly on Team Breezy, but I don't give passes for poor behavior.

Justin Timberlake from the Mickey Mouse club, to N-Sync to solo artist.  Timberlake has charm and pop appeal, for years his squeaky image was so in demand, he sought out all the big names in Hip Hop from Pharrell, Snoop Dogg, Brian McKnight to Timbaland.  His debut "Justified" CD was well received and peaked @ #2.  He flashes the great smile and all the little girls loved and adored him.  He dated Britney Spears and Cameron Diaz and broke both of their hearts, he was with Diaz for four years.   He did a few movies nothing really successful, but a very decent actor, he made a few very well received appearances on SNL, with the famous spoof  "Dick In A Box".   All that charm then comes the hiccup, he performed with Janet Jackson at the Superbowl and gave life to "nipplegate" he pulled off Janet's flap on her jacket and  exposed her bare breast, 'supposedly" it was an "accident".  Now this is where the double standard comes into play, Janet Jackson caught all the heat, while Timberlake was forgiven.  He showed his true 'white' card pass and ran for cover, he didnt' come to Jackson's defense, until years later when it was time for him to release 'Future Sex/Love Sounds which debut at #1 on the Pop chart, while Jackson has never recovered for the debacle.  Timberlake admitted that he left her in a lurch.  Now if that had been Britney Spears performing at half time and say rapper 50 Cent had pulled her blouse off, ALL HELL WOULD HAVE  BROKEN LOOSE and he would've been regarded as an ANIMAL attacking poor Britney, that's my point.  Recently Timberlake married actress Jessica Biel and he just released his new single "Shirt and Tie" (which is currently my favorite song), from his forthcoming 20/20 cd.

Another week has gone by and I say to myself, this can't be happening, yet it is.  It's almost one year without you, I can't the pain still seems just as horrific.  I watched the SAG Awards last night, and in there memoriam section, they featured you, along with others who passed this past year, and the flood gates open up again.  Your mom's book comes out Tuesday, and she's telling her side of things, still I wished that she had taken the Robyn Crawford approach, so far she's the only one who in my opinion seems to have integrity, the one who continues to honor who you were in the friendship that the two of you shared.  I listen to your songs and watch old videos.  This week I've introduced my little seven year old cousin to your version of "Cinderella" she listens to "Impossible" and "There Is Music In You" over and over, so another generation is praising your glory. I still can't bring myself to write an article for public viewing that deals with February 11 - 2012, I never can say goodbye, I don't ever want to, so until next week, I'll be singing you.  Rest easy my beautiful princess, you are loved, missed and adored. RIP~

The world continues to become more and more commercial, and heartfelt intent seems to be lost.  The more that I grow in life, the more I cling to the values of yesterday, It's time to cleanse and heal. It's up to you to instill HONESTY and LEGACY. I think duty, honor and family should have the same sustenance.

Priorities seem to be nonchalant about putting focus into place with tradition and value, that is where pride come from. Having faith to take a stand for the generations to come, if we do not start instilling reinforcement in our homes and government, the world is bound to fall apart, by self destruction. Our purpose needs to be in check, with an clear direction of what needs to happen. What we represent can be a simple approach if 'truth' is at the center of any conversation, walk in your purpose. Teach the children, the Lord's prayer, you would be amazed how many have never heard it. honor God in the classroom, the Pledge of allegiance, is a structured testimony of a promise that comes from within, that's where the topic starts ..... I'll leave it up to you and your household, as to where it will end.

You're not fooling nobody, I know that you lip synced today girl!

WASHINGTON (AP) - There's no question Beyonce's rendition of the national anthem was a roaring success. The mystery: was it live or lip synced? On Tuesday, a spokeswoman for the U.S. Marine Band told news outlets that Beyonce had lip synced at President Barack Obama's inauguration. Master Sgt. Kristin duBois said the band was notified at the last minute that Beyonce would use a pre-recorded voice track.

But by late afternoon, the Marine Corps backed off that statement.
Marine Corps spokesman Capt. Gregory Wolf said that because there was no opportunity for Beyonce to rehearse with the Marine Band, it was determined that a live performance by the band was ill advised. Instead they used a pre-recorded track for the band's portion of the song.

Whitney Houston sang the National Anthem over twenty years ago, and NO one, and I repeat NO one has come close to this performance, and NO one ever will.  I don't know why people attempt to rewrite history, so Beyonce' Knowles good try, but your performance today at the Inauguration, was 'average' at best.  Whitney Houston was a true President Obama supporter as the picture below illustrates. RIP

Hello gorgeous today our President Obama will be sworn in as the 44th President of the United States.  I wish you were here to sing the national anthem instead of Beyonce' Knowles.  I miss you so much, I watched some more of your old footage, this weekend I was stuck on the 1991 Billboard Awards where you sang Lover Man/All The Man I Need omg that performance is twenty years old, but it still holds up, your look and delivery seem so present day.  I also discovered a rare gem you singing D.J. Rogers 'Say You Love Me' in 1994 on the Bodyguard tour, I never heard you sing that song, it was a smoking rendition.  You could sing anything and make it yours, all from that tiny little frame and that gigantic flawless smile.  Even though you gave us over 25 years of your greatness, selfish people like me, still wanted more and more, then I quickly realize that I fall into that group who often wanted more of you than perhaps you could give, so the inevitable happened, it was time for you to move on to the next phase of your journey.  I thank you, and I will forever hold you in the utmost of esteem, you helped shaped my life, and I'll never forget you for that.  Time and time again, I say that I hope that you're finding the peace that you so richly and rightly deserve.  Until next week my beautiful princess, rest easy, and I'll be seeing you~

Second Term ..... Sworn In - Let's Go!!

Thank you President Obama, for being a man of your word and statue.  The three things that you said you would do in your last term, you did them.  I'm looking forward to onward and upwards under your leadership.  You make a very tasking difficult job seem attainable and you do it with such elegance, poise, style and dignity.  I'm a proud American Male.  I pray for your health and safety throughout your term and life.kk

President Barack Obama has been sworn in to his second term in office.  During a quiet ceremony in the Blue Room of the White House, Obama took the official oath of office at approximately 11:55 a.m. Obama's family attended, along with several members of the media.

Upon completing the swearing in, Obama hugged his family members and said to his daughter, Sasha, "I did it."
The ceremony occurred because of a Constitutional requirement that the president begins his second term by noon on Jan. 20. Obama will be sworn in a second time on Monday, when he takes the oath of office in front of thousands of people at the U.S. Capitol. courtesy of Huffpost Politics

Thank you for the opportunity to be along the land of the living, to wake up to witness the dawn of a new day in my right mind, body and spirit.  I thank you for the blessings and gifts that you have bestowed upon my life, I don't not take any of my blessings for granted.  I know that I can do all things through Christ my   Lord and Savior.  I ask that you guide and direct my path, that you protect me from hurt, harm, fear and danger, please also honor me with favor, mercy and grace.  The road of life is long, and can be lonely and unfulfilled road if you do not honor the creator, and special people in your life, who make it a little easier to bare.  God I need you every day of my life, to lead me where you deem fit for me, please enable me to see all my dreams into fruition, please let my light shine as a vessel of your word, and to be an Angel to all that I meet who are in need of my services.  I ask that you forgive me of all my sins, please rid me or any demons, or poisons that are growing within me.  Take away any addictions and afflictions in my life.  I continue to pray for the Hurricane Sandy victims, please keep them encouraged to know that help is on the way, I say a prayer for the Newtown victims and survivors, help them through this horrific time in their lives, and reveal the answers to their many questions.  I send Love, Light and prayers to my family, friends,people of the world and yes to my enemies too. Happy Friday everyone .., Let's Talk about It!!

Its a new chapter, when a door closes new opportunities begin, Time to restructure dreams deferred. A fresh slate can cleanse your soul, time for correction. It's about taking ownership for self, you must understand what self worth is about, self value is warranted. It's time to stop giving power to someone else, when you allow someone to drain you, it speaks to the ideology of not understanding worth and focus. The amazing part about an epiphany. its often noticed by others before self, the people who drain you immediately will comment on the difference, and why is that, it's noticeable, you're no longer an enabler, with clarity finally you can recognize your light, EMBRACE your gifts, it's time to honor you as oppose to giving your light to ungrateful individuals.

Repetition happens more than most would care to admit, change can be scary, but I think it's a rewarding tool, wanting for more in your life is ABSOLUTE, understanding fault and bad habits, is what the healing process is about. Whenever you encounter someone who is afraid to own who they are, that's a person who fears growth and will continue to run from their past by placing blame elsewhere. Accountability is about maturation to acknowledge that much work is needed on self, that's the person who I want to know more about, because at the end of the day, we've all walked in familiar shoes, its not about the fall, it's about where you land.

Pauline Phillips  born on July 4, 1918, in Sioux City, Iowa better known as Dear Abby advice columnist, born on July 4, 1918, in Sioux City, Iowa died Wednesday (January 16-2013) at the age of 94 after a decade-long struggle with Alzheimer’s disease.  RIP

Conrad Bain better known as Mr. Drummond on the hit sitcom Diffrent Strokes passed away January 16-2012 he died of natural causes in Livermore, California. He was 89.

Jack Klugman known affectionately as Quincy M.E. and Oscar Madison on the Odd Couple. Born April 27-1922 - December 24-2012 at 90 years old.

Legendary character actor Charles Durning of stage and screen passed away December 25-2012 of natural cases.  He was 89.  Durning, who overcame poverty, battlefield trauma and nagging self-doubt to become an acclaimed character actor, whether on stage as Big Daddy in “Cat on a Hot Tin Roof” or in film as the lonely widower smitten with a cross-dressing Dustin Hoffman in “Tootsie,”, he died on  at his home in Manhattan.

American Idol returns tonight ... Meow!!!

American Idol returns for it's 12th season tonight with some familiar faces Ryan Seacrest, Randy Jackson along with some new faces Nicki Minaj, Keith Urban and legendary Mariah Carey.  News of tension between Minaj and Carey was reported a couple months back, so millions of people including me will tune in for the weekly cat fights.  Hopefully once the dust settles down on the set, we can focus on what the show original concept was, which is about the TALENT! Can the ladies put aside their differences or will it be a weekly slug fest?  Good luck ~

Oprah gets the truth out of Armstrong ....

I'm Guilty admitted Lance Armstrong gave the interview of his life to Oprah Winfrey.  He finally comes clean about his doping for years in his Tour De France marathons.  The interview will air in two-parts on the OWN network.  Ironically Nike said they will keep Armstrong, which is a blessing to him, as most of his sponsors have dropped him including his "Livestrong" brand. I'm looking forward to Momma O's interview, will you be watching?

Beyonce Knowles in my Ricky Ricardo voice, you got some xplainin to do ... Let's do the math, she announced she was pregnant Sept 2011 at the MTV VMA's.  Appeared on Jimmy Fallon singing "Love on Top" in October of 2011, no baby bump, she said that she tape that show months in advance, when the questions was asked to Jimmy Fallon about her appearance date, he stated that his shows air live meaning, it was CURRENT.  She appeared on a UK talk show with a baby bump, when she went to sit down, her stomach folded and had a crease in it.  Supposedly she gave birth in January 2012, the shortest pregnancy EVER, paid 1.3 million dollars to have the entire Hospital Wing closed off.  Now she's on the cover of GQ with her 'new' body after giving birth.  HMMM well all I have to say it's Beyonce' is one beard after another, the cover-up is BLOWN, you're so damn fake.  It's perfectly fine to have a surrogate to carry your child, doesn't make you less than a woman, you're still a mother.  I don't get why the lies, it just makes her look dumb and silly. She's so afraid that RiRi, Gaga, Taylor Swift and Gaga has taken her thunder, that she doens't know what to do with herself.

Heavenly beautiful Whitney.  I'm missing you more and more everyday.  It's almost been a year, and I'm still in shock, upon hearing the news, a part of me is still numb.  The world seems very different without you here.  More and more specials are done in your honor, which in a way its very befitting, but it's still very heartbreaking and disappointing.  It's like a life interrupted, but of course God knows best.  Wherever you are, I know that you're getting a much deserve rest and break.  You put in so much time, dedication and commitment, your work ethic was something to be admired and respected.  You came into the world to make us take notice and pay attention AND that you did.  I love and miss you always, and I shall never forget you.  When I think of you, I smile.  Until next week, RIP sweet princess.

Happy Friday everyone ... Lets Talk about It!!

The battle between personal beliefs and what's taught in books continues to rear it's ugly head.  I personally believe that Heaven exists, some will challenge that statement. I also believe that you will repeat life in one form or another, until you get it right, only then will you get to the afterlife.  Sometimes we get so focused on trying to do the right thing, but the right thing according to whom?  OPINION - everyone has one, truth is we all have chimed in on issues in another persons life, be it work, personal relationships, family or friendships, not everyone follows their own advice, the reality is that often time we hide behind masks.  In your walk, you will know when to say enough, purposeful is not to second guess self.

RENEWAL - is a reward of growth, experience is a constant teacher that you can achieve greater, by not settling for less.  Represent truth, whether the masses agree or not, respect and admiration will be given. Conflict resolution, comes from doing the work and applying the foundation.  Mistakes happen, but can be made right. Genuine exchanges, are warm intentions, negatives has no place in the big picture of life. Torn is the challenge of honoring right or wrong, well maybe not a right or wrong, but the correct way of thinking that works for you, at the end of the day, we will only be judged by one.

Just another reminder of how great this lady really was, how gifted she truly was, how she elevated the barto standards unattainable.  She will forever be in a league of her own.  This performance of Whitney Houston at the Billboard Awards show in Dec 1991 she kills it in this performance of "Lover Man/All The Man I Need".  The performance was of true powerhouse standards, she looked amazing, sang her lungs out and captivated her audience to a rousing Standing Ovation, her clarity, her range, her delivery, her presence, she was born for Hollywood, a regal SUPERSTAR.  Elegance personafied.  Truly she was not something of this earth, she was sent from the Heavens to shine down on us, for only a brief moment.  Enjoy~

Teena Marie posthumous new single "Luv Letter" is classic Lady Tee.  It's sad to think that we'll never get to witness her artistry live anymore, but the legacy that she left will live on as any immortal does.  "Luv Letter" showcases the easy breezy way of Marie, and it's clear why she has legions of fans 'still' mourning her loss. Another week without your beautiful presence.  I watched a lot of your videos this past weekend, and more and more you continue to slay me.  You're incredible talent was so legendary, and I'm more than aware of how great you were, but now that you're immortal, my appreciation is even greater than it already was.  You always seemed so assured of yourself, it was always glamorous, and you genuinely seemed to enjoy performing and appeared to be a very happy person.  The hard work and dedication showed, you were a true Trojan, a thoroughbred performer, constantly raising the bar and making everyone take notice.  This month marks 11 months since your untimely passing, which is baffling, time continues to race by.  Next month marking your one year anniversary and Oprah Winfrey is going to interview your mom, it should be a good interview, hopefully Cissy and ONLY Cissy.  Rest easy my beautiful princess, until next week Love and Light.  I'm forever missing you.  RIP

Clippers making Lakers give respect ..

Kobe Bryant days are numbered.  The Los Angeles Clippers by the city of Los Angeles were always considered a second rate Basketball team in comparison to the GODLY viewed Lakers franchise.  Don't get me wrong, theLos Angeles  Lakers are a great organization and deserve the recognition.  Somewhere the focus got lost, it stopped being about a team of players and starting being about a player (Bryant) which clearly in my opinion was the downfall.  Bryant was so focused on chasing Michael Jordan's record that he lost his focus which was being a basketball team leader, a few years back, he fought with then Laker coach Phil Jackson, it was always everyone fault but his.

The Clippers were on a 18 games win streak, until losing to Denver, they took on the Lakers last night and the winning streak started all over again.  Chris Paul and Blake Griffin helped the Clippers to defeat the Lakers 107-102.  Paul had 30 points and 13 assists, Griffin added 24 points, and the Clippers led all the way in a victory on Friday night, giving them two wins in two games this season against their Staples Center co-tenants.  Los Angeles finally has an even balance with the luxury of taking pride in both franchises, as it should be.  Remember the race is not won by the swiftest, it's about the enderance til the end.

Happy Friday everyone, ... Let's Talk about It!!

Revolutions are in the air, fiscal year cliff met it's deadline, change is in the air, the world is hopeful again. EVALUATION on self and others are the topic of discussion. What do you deem worthy for yourself, what's worthy in others? Change is constant, its healthy, it humbles and enables one to address the quirks. Knowing the future exists is inevitable, you can be proactive or idle. An ending can be the beginning of a something beautiful.

TOXIC is dead weight, things in your life that pull at you, its clutter, we can no longer wait for spring to clean, cleansing and purifying is survival for manifestation. It's the new year, conversations like this is so appropriate, and can really help succeed in the betterment of you, its a part of a rightful passage of things included in your world. This life and all that it offers, to come away with a deeper understanding of purpose and deliberation.  Try not to take life too seriously, because no one gets out alive, we're passing through for a time, seeing completion of projects, your life the highs, the lows, it's joys, it's sorrows and its extremes are what shapes us for the next destination, and yes there is a next!

It's the top of the year, which made me choose this song by Peggy Lee, I think it's very befitting, and it simplifies the appreciation approach to life.  We all have revolutions, some will stick to them, but most will  ..... "Is That all There Is" was filmed in 1969 when Lee made a guest appearance on Dean Martin's tv show, the performance still holds signifigance in the world today.  Peggy Lee will go down in the history books for her vocals, her looks and her sass, she was the Mae West of music.  Enjoy~

Open Letter - Happy New Year

Hello everyone, and Happy New Year to you. 
I'm back, and ready to tell my story, to take on 2013, and share with you stories that are on my mind, things that are happening in the world as they happen.  2012 was a swift year, we lost some major heavyweights, the biggest loss for me was Whitney Houston, but of course for all of you who visit my blog, you already know that. 

This year I encourage you to strive for quality in your life, also let your word be your bond.  We're living in crazy dangerous times, make sure the people that you cling to are worthy of your time and space, never allow anyone to make you second guess yourself.  Whatever your beliefs are, continue to honor that, the prayer is the messenger. 

I had an interesting text convo yesterday while waiting on my flight, I was misquoted by someone who I use to be very close to, as I grow older, I find the need for accuracy and honesty, ironically those words doesn't seem to matter so much to everyone.   My mantra is stand firm, stand tall, move in a forward pace, erect, honest and raw.  Back to my point, I told person that of my many jobs is 'Entertainment Consultant', I shared that I booked a job for someone we both know,  instead of asking what that meant, he gave it a title that made sense in his mind, he called me an 'Agent' and their the attacks begun, I was a liar, I was mad, and was told to let his words marinate, oh and I was also told 'g'day' as his ended his text.  LOL at the end of day, again I say to you, to know your truths, NOT according to someone elses comfort or lack of understanding.  That kind of energy is TOXIC, and not a healthy situation to be in, as I move on, to the good, better, best ... I move with the understanding that I am one of God's chosen, when evil rise against me, they will stumble and fall.  A clash of texts isn't the arena for adult conversations.  I left the dysfunctional bi-polar, low self esteem, self hatred friendship in the past and the negative text yesterday ..... made my position VERY clear, its NOT me, it's YOU!

Thanks again to you my followers for walking this journey called life with me, ss we go forward we can communicate, some days agreeing to disagree, but allowing the other to at least hear one another, just don't misquote me.  Lastly friendships are 'chosen' evaluate whats rich in your life, and if you have a taxing toxic friendship, I say way the pros and cons.  Put your first, worthy relationships prevail.
