TV Chile reported that a 15-story building collapsed in the hardest-hit city of Concepcion, where cracks opened up in the streets. Buildings caught fire, road bridges collapsed and residents huddled in streets full of rubble of masonry and glass from destroyed homes. Many were terrified by powerful aftershocks and desperately trying to call friends and family.

Italian Vogue is taking on Bethann Hardison as Editor-at-Large for a new section of the magazine’s website. Vogue Italia previously wowed us with amazing shoots during Summer ‘08 that featured all black models.

When Vogue Italia’s groundbreaking “All Black Issue” hit newsstands in July 2008, the flush-with-Black-models mag was one of the most important fashion stories of the year–perhaps even the decade. Bethann Hardison, former model, agent, writer, businesswoman and all-around fashion force, wasn’t suprised at the instant success–she’d worked closely with Vogue Italia’s editor-in-chief Franca Sozzani to help bring the idea to life. Almost two years later, Sozzani has figured out a way to continue the discussion online! “Today, a new section of Vogue Italia’s website went live that’s devoted to Black models and issues in fashion,” says Hardison, who’s serving as editor-at-large for the channel. “Every week, I’ll introduce a new Black model to the international community, starting with Sedene Blake.”

Since the success of the “All Black Issue,” Vogue Italia has made a laudable effort to support and promote Black models. Sozzani dedicated the November 2008 issue of L’Uomo Vogue to Africa (half of the advertising revenue was donated to Africa-related charities). And in July 2009, to celebrate the first anniversary of the “All Black Issue,” Sozzani produced a special supplement dedicated to the history of the Black Barbie (the first doll, “Francie” hit shelves in 1967). According to Hardison, the fact that Vogue Italia is supporting Black culture right now is huge. “Milan has always been the toughest place for Black models to be,” she says. “When I was an agent, I never even wanted to send my girls to Italy. The change is astounding.”

Hello and Happy Friday Everyone,
Lately I've been on a quest to find me, cause honestly I've been lost and found many times. Wouldn't life be so wonderful if you were given just a few 'do overs' another chance to go back and collect that 200 hundred dollars:) Seeing friends in the midst of it all, even though it's not your situation doesn't make it any less stressful. Realizing that it does take a village, and to acknowledge that lending a hand with your availability is not always easy. The rewards will come, but it shouldn't be the reason that you proceed. In all course of action, comes a price.

Taking toll, is to tally up your score and validate the reasons that you're willing to evaluate and come up with the precise sacrifice. Whenever a lesson is taught or learned, it comes from your willingness to expand on uncertain thoughts and procedures. I believe in second chances be it love, family, religion or any other form of compromise. Of late I've explored questions that I dare not touch, and was prepared for a not so favorable answer. Family secrets will come to light, the best part is you're not alone, because EVERYONE can relate on this subject matter one way or another, and believe me a toll is taken.

When you think of the creator, such an unselfish act, but what was given up, the gain was so much greater. In life will all pay a toll, keeping inventory is the very necessary process, sometimes the equation is wrong, other times you did not have it and had to borrow it. Remember even your time is borrowed, and has a price too. Rough times are still ahead, and when they come you have ammunition to buffer the battle wounds. Making the most of any given situation is learning to divide and delegate your toll and being okay with saying, this one may not be about me, but I got you.

Dang it's going down in Detroit....why why why? The FBI is preparing to file new corruption charges against former Detroit Mayor Kwame Kilpatrick and his father based on evidence the two took hundreds of thousands of dollars in bribes from Karl Kado, a little-known city contractor.
Kilpatrick resigned from office and pleaded guilty to obstruction of justice charges on Sept. 4, 2008, following an investigation that showed he used city resources to cover up a romantic affair with his chief of staff Christine Beatty. Zhane' was a talented duo, but like so many girl groups or groups in general, for some reason they all disband. Renee' and Jean had a nice flow, and they were true singer and musicians. The purity and nuance of 'Sweet Taste Of Love' echoes the days of new love when you had all the butterflies in your stomach, you know the feeling of anticipation of the next phone call. The good times, Zhane' was a nice moment in musical history.

Lent is here, which can be used as another form of a New Years Resolution, but of course it holds a deeper meaning because of the religious foundation. Ironically we're barely into the new year, and some of you have already lost your focus. Lent gives you a reprieve. This time you only have to refrain from bad habits for forty days. When you think of the sacrifice that our creator did for us, isn't it worth it?

Fortitude speaks to strength of mind that enables one to endure adversity with courage. Hurdles and obstacles are road blocks laid for obstruction, but you are the one who holds the power to divine devotion and redemption. I can merely suggest things, but with all things, presentation and a solid fail proof plan has to be executed. In this world their are more follower's than leaders. Don't be afraid to use your autonomy to direct your course. Without a clear direction in life, you will continue to go round in circles.

In the trenches to greatness, hard work and consistency is a must. Staying steadfast eventually the shackles will come off, and when they do it's your chance to shake loose the constraints that has held you down. We're at the stage in our lives when we know, that we can't place fault or blame on others. Seeking truth is ABSOLUTE to knock the walls down, that you've somehow managed to build up.

Idle is another word to rid yourself of. Idle means to stay put, to merely exist. You cannot accept complacency, much work is needed. Another's loss is somebody else's gain. You can sit on the sidelines and watch, or be a part that conquers and divides. It's up to you decide if you're to be weak or strong. One or the other, just know your mission. Once you can navigate your way in your decision, the path and direction becomes vividly clear.

With a furious kick on the final lap Wednesday, Davis stuck his skate across the line and won his second straight Olympic title in 1,000-meter speed skating, the first skater to win this event twice at the Winter Games.

“That race depleted me 100 percent,” he said. “I never want to leave anything on the track.” “Those last 200, 300 meters were very difficult,” said Davis, who usually leaves his left arm on his back until the final straightaway. “I was just trying to carry my speed. I could feel it leaving me. It doesn’t matter what it looks like, just as long as you get across the line as quick as you could.”
When he won this race four years ago, Davis became the first African-American athlete to win an individual gold at the Winter Games. This time, he simply wanted to be known for his skating.

“When you’re a world champion or an Olympic champion, you get this little thing on your back called a target,” Davis said. “To go out there and win the 1,000 meters twice is truly amazing. CONGRATULATIONS!!!!

The remake will appear on Q's next CD release.

Rihanna is set to star in Berry Gordy's The Last Dragon with Samuel L. Jackson. I'm not excited, about this movie, because it was a weak story, but the eye candy was good back in the day.

Pink is incredibly talented, and for some reason she flies under the radar. She's been a solid ticket draw for over ten years. Other's come on and go, Pink is quietly consistant, and she ALWAYS speaks her mind. She's got the goods, not only is she a terrific singer, but she's a great songwriter too. I love this performance because it's campy and fun, also the 'Get The Party Started' is one of my favorite songs by her.

An L.A. judge just ordered Ol G Mattie Knowles to pay $8,200 a month in child support, retroactive to February 1. Knowles must also pay 100% of uninsured medical costs.
Alexsandra Wright claims she had an 18-month relationship with Knowles and he's the baby daddy of Nixon -- born February 4.
Wright's lawyer, Neal Hersh, went to court today asking for support and the judge granted it. Knowles will take a DNA test March 1 ... and the long-term support issues hinge on the outcome. It's interesting -- Knowles has not flat out denied he's the daddy. And in fact, he gave Alexsandra $10,000 in January to cover uninsured medical costs and baby stuff.
UPDATE: The Judge ordered Knowles to pay Wright $20,750 for the month of January. Now that's what I call G A N G S T A.....the mistress is on the come up. That Ol G, shouldve put on a jimmy!!

Love is in the air. Love is always a sacrifice. The emotions of life and love. This is Valentine's Day weekend. Some of us have a special love in our lives, while others are hoping to find someone who will complete them. Love is never an easy journey to embark on. Communication, though it should be easy, is very hard to stay proactive in pursuit. In love there will be peaks and valleys, and struggle will exist, as temptations are always persistent.

Love is a pantheon that we aspire to have in our lives. Show me someone who have never been in love before and I'll show you someone who hasn't lived. A broken heart will heal, but rest assure you will forever be changed. If life is like the secret of a sparrow, we ask the universe to lead us, then love is the aspiration of visualization to some of life's greatest achievements. Believe it or not, heartbreak is the ultimate test of boundaries on a leap of faith. We don't know what the future holds, everyday begins as a mystery.

When someone shows you their true colors, believe it!! Good, bad or indifferent, don't try to make an excuse for them, either you accept someone or you don't. With that said, I can say that I find love to be the greatest emotion, the highs and lows, all worth the gallant effort to allow someone to come into your life, and love and care for you. To have your heart racing with exhilarance that you never knew existed is, in my humble opinion, one of the cherry bonuses to life.

A reprieve Lil Wayne’s highly anticipated? court date and sentencing was pushed back until March 2nd allegedly because he needs to have time to surgically remove his diamond grill from his mouth. The surgery is scheduled to take place on February 12th in Miami and in court today the judge told the rapper to hurry back to Miami and take his 10 days to recover.

Looks like the King Of Pop's doctor is going to be tried for the death of the Superstar. I'm a little stomped about this one. Yes from a ethical stand point. He should have been smarter about the dosage that he provided to his patient/client. On the flip side, his employer was paying him a hefty 150.000 grand a month. I think greed clouded his judgement, but at the end of the day, he was following orders. So we'll see how this plays out. The worse part of all is that the Pop Legend is gone, and that's the saddest part of all.

Grammy winner Taylor Swift, won four Grammys, appears she's a little bit clumsy, she dropped on of her Grammys which fell to the floor and broke. R.I.P. Boston Legal actor Justin Mentell was killed this morning in a one-vehicle accident near Madison, Wisconsin. Mentell was pronounced dead at the scene after his Jeep went off the road into an embankment hitting two trees. He was only 27 years old.

Sean Puffy Combs had a very human side to him last night @ The BET Honors show. He was presented his Award by his ex-Andre' Harrell. Combs spoke about what a great Mother he has. He said she instill great work ethic in him, and that she worked very hard to provide a good life for her two kids. So the Grammy Awards were last night, and Friday I predicted how it would play out...and I was only off by one. Every year African American artists dominate the music industry, and when the Award ceremonies roll around it goes a little something like that this: ALBUM OF THE YEAR - Taylor Swift/RECORD OF THE YEAR - Kings Of Leon/BEST NEW ARTIST - Zac Brown Band/RECORD OF THE YEAR - Single Ladies.......does it sould like a even playing field?
Beyonce' had a very big year, she was nominated for 10 grammys and won 6 which is exciting, but NOT really in the major categories. At some point we need to STAND up and declare 'bullshit' when we see it. Big UP's to Kanye West, who in spite of his mouth went home with ANOTHER Grammy!! One of those GOTCHA BITCH moments, because I know that it killed the Academy to give it to him. LOL



Pink's performance was the highlight of the evenings live performances, and the heartfelt tribute to Michael Jackson, which I felt wasn't long enough.
