Massive - TUPAC, SNOOP & DRE

Hip Hop Icon/Legend Tupac Shakur, is set to have a reunion of sorts, at the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame induction ceremony next month.  It's looking like m a Death Row Records reunion vibe. The late icon’s former labelmate Snoop Dogg is leading the tribute in honor of his “2 of Amerikaz Most Wanted” collaborator.

Meanwhile, domestic abuse master Dr. Dre is reportedly in talks to also join the ceremony. The legendary producer is apparently close to signing on, word has it, that the tribute will feature at least three songs, including “California Love.”

Snoop and ‘Pac had a friendly relationship that included “2 of Amerikaz Most Wanted.” However, ‘Pac reportedly shunned Snoop for not beefing with Puff Daddy and The Notorious B.I.G. at the height of his Bad Boy feud. “Me and him clashed, because [radio host Angie Martinez] asked me on the air, ‘How do you feel about Puffy and Biggie?’ And I said what I felt. ‘They my homeboys. I love ’em,'” Snoop told “Sway in the Morning.”

Still, Snoop said he saw ‘Pac after he was shot in Las Vegas. “Last time I saw him, he was laying in the bed, holding onto his last breath.”

‘Pac’s relationship with Dre had similar ups and downs. The duo worked together on “California Love” and its classic cinematic video. However, once Dre started stepping away from Death Row, Shakur taunted Dre. On “To Live and Die in L.A.,” 2Pac said the song was a “California Love” sequel, “without gay ass Dre.” ... OOPS Dre outed once again.

Lies Of 45

Trump Lies: Remember when the so-called President said he was going to donate his salary? Well he just accepted his second paycheck.
Remember when he said Mexico was going to pay for the wall? He has asked Congress to appropriate the $25 billion of taxpayer money to cover costs.
Remember when he said he was going to divest from his businesses? Changed his mind.
Remember when he said he was going to release his tax returns? Changed his mind.
Remember when he said he wasn't going to go on vacation or play golf? 5 of the last 7 weekends he went on vacation and played golf, costing taxpayers $11.1 million.
Remember when he said he was going to use American steel to build these dangerous pipelines? Russian steel arrived last week for the Keystone Pipeline XL.
Remember when he said would defeat ISIS in 30 days? He still doesn't even have a plan.
Remember when he said he was going to appropriate money to HBCUs? He lied to get a photo-op.
Remember when he said he was going to drain the swamp of Washington insiders? His cabinet is filled with lobbyists, oil and Wall Street executives.
Remember when he said he wasn't going to cut social security and Medicare? The Republican bill does just this.
Remember when he said that nobody on his campaign has any communications with Russian govt? 7 of his people have now admitted they spoke and/or met with Russian officials, after they lied and got caught.
Remember when he said that the Obamacare replacement would cover more people at lower cost? The AHCA that the GOP and 45 are now pushing; they now admit will cover fewer people at a higher cost.
Share so everyone can remember what a liar this so-called president (45) truly is.

Affirmations

Dear Heavenly Father,

Thank You for loving me.  Thank you for not giving up on me. Amen

Goodbye Joni

Joni Sledge, who recorded the infectious dance anthem “We Are Family” with her three sisters, was found dead in her Phoenix home, the band’s rep said Saturday.

The 60-year-old member of Sister Sledge had not been ill, and her cause of death remains unclear, said the band’s publicist Biff Warren.  A friend found Sledge on Friday.  “On yesterday, numbness fell upon our family. We welcome your prayers as we weep the loss of our sister, mother, aunt, niece and cousin,” read a family statement.

The four Philly-based Sledge sisters — Joni, Debbie, Kim and Kathy — formed their band in 1971.They spent eight years struggling in anonymity, a period that prompted deep soul searching.  “We were frustrated,” Joni told The Guardian newspaper in an interview last year. “We were saying, ‘Well, maybe we should go to college and just become lawyers or something other than music, because it really is tough.”

But the sibling singers kept at it and catapulted to fame in 1979 after releasing their album “We Are Family.” The record was written and produced by Bernard Edwards and Nile Rodgers of the group Chic.  The high-energy disco jam “The Greatest Dancer” became the sisters’ first hit. But it was “We Are Family” that brought the sisters worldwide acclaim.

The song celebrating sisterhood and female empowerment was nominated for a Grammy and sold more than one million copies, as did the album of the same name.  “Recording the track ‘We Are Family’ was like a one-take party,” Joni said in the Guardian interview. “We were just dancing and playing around and hanging out in the studio when we did it.”

Kathy would later leave the group to pursue a solo career in 1989. But the trio of sisters continued to record and tour into the present, including a 2015 performance for Pope Francis.  They last performed together in concert in October. The sisters were slated to appear at the Cypress Bayou Casino in Charenton, La. on March 18.  Joni Sledge is survived by an adult son, her sisters and other relatives.

TGIF

Struggle is a process, for completion, you have to go through angst.  It's a process to reach an epiphany.  You must understand and believe that better for self exists.  What we reap is about sowing.  The example comes from what is taught.  Do not settle, the breakthrough will come, no matter the task, fruition is the VICTORY!!

Always Remembering

Remembering - The day after Christmas, will always leave a bad taste in my mouth, it was the day that one of my favorite artists, transitioned.           Growing up in Venice, California, a melting pot of races.  Teena Marie was a culturally aware human being, who always saw the world as it should be, without color lines. She was authentic in her pursuits and passionate about the music she loved.  Her untimely death is still a very hard pill to swallow.  Happy Birthday Teena Marie ... your gift of song and production continues to keep on giving.
