MISSING YOU

One of the great lover affairs of the 20th Century was Ronald and Nancy Reagan, seemingly newlyweds their entire marriage, their love for one another continued to endure.

Born in New York City on July 6, 1921, Nancy Reagan was a former first lady of the United States and the widow of President Ronald Reagan. She was a Hollywood actress in the 1940s and '50s and married then-actor Reagan in 1952. Acting as a significant adviser to her husband, she served as first lady of California before eventually moving into the White House. Her major initiative was the "Just Say No" drug awareness campaign. After her husband contracted Alzheimer's disease, she became a strong advocate for finding a cure. MISSING YOU

A true ladies man .... Remembering - Country great Merle Haggard, born April 6 1937 also passed on April 6 2016, talk about completion to the evolution.  2016 brutality continued ... Merle Ronald Haggard was an American singer, songwriter, guitarist, and fiddler. Along with Buck Owens, Haggard and his band the Strangers helped create the Bakersfield sound, which is characterized by the twang of Fender Telecaster and the unique mix with the traditional country steel guitar sound, new vocal harmony styles in which the words are minimal, and a rough edge not heard on the more polished Nashville sound recordings of the same era.

He died on his 79th birthday — at his ranch in Northern California, having recently suffered from double pneumonia.

MISSING YOU

If you leave me now ..

Remembering - The Eagles were Golden, with etched songs in our hearts and memory banks forever.  Two weeks into January, 2016 wreaked havoc once again.  Glenn Frey, who co-founded the Eagles and with Don Henley became one of history's most successful songwriting teams with such hits as "Hotel California" and "Life in the Fast Lane," died.

Frey was 67 and had been battling multiple ailments. He died Monday. The band's website says he died in New York.

Guitarist Frey and drummer Henley formed the Eagles in Los Angeles in the early 1970s, along with guitarist Bernie Leadon and bassist Randy Meisner. They would become a top act over the next decade, embodying the melodic California sound.

An Eagles greatest hits collection from the mid-1970s and "Hotel California" are among the best-selling albums in history.

Frey's solo hits include "The Heat Is On" and "Smuggler's Blues."  One of the greatest of the modern era, Frey's memory lives on and on.

Whitney's Holiday Glow

Whitney Houston was the template for any Singer entering the record business, she set the bar for anyone to achieve, though few ever attained her status and stature.  At the height of her success she had no peer.  In her career she is the most awarded female in the history of music, over 418 awards.  Houston's Holiday album is for the true Houston fan, though not at her peak vocally, she eased her vocal chops over some standards, making them her own.  That's what a Singer does, ad-lib, phrase and color the canvas.
