Flashback Who's That ....

Flashback who's that Thursday:

Lisa Fischer is one of the most respected session and background singers in the Industry.  Honing her craft she earned her strips singing background for 22 years with the Legendary Luther Vandross and later singing on tours with Nine Inch Nails, Tina Turner and The Rolling Stones.  Fischer sang 'Gone Hollywood' in 1986 on Bob James 'Obsession' release.  Vandross produced her debut CD 'So Intense' in 1991 which contained the mega hit 'How Can I Ease The Pain' which went to #1 on the r&b, it also garnered her a Grammy Award for best r&b female, that year she and Patti LaBelle tied,  she won a Soul Train Award for Best Female Soul Singer.

With the success of her debut CD it was only fitting to have a followup release to her debut, which after a few attempts in the studio with Narada Michael Walden, it was not to be.  Ironically Fischer opted not to complete her followup because she enjoyed singing background, and didnt like the pressures that comes along with being a singer.   Today she continues to tour with the 'Stones' and other artists.  Recently she was seen in the Academy Award winning documentary '20 Feet From Stardom'.  Fischer is highly regarded as one of the best background singers in the business, and we're lucky to have her debut CD sealed in time.
