I 'STILL' Love Lucy ...

Game Changer - The 'I Love Lucy' show syndicated for over fifty years. Lucille Ball was a savvy business woman AND a comedic genius, easily to understand why America couldn't get enough of her.

Desilu Productions was formed in 1950 using the combined names of "Desi Arnaz" and "Lucille Ball". Desilu Productions was initially created to produce Lucy and Desi's vaudeville act to sell the television series to Columbia Broadcasting System (CBS) executives. Both Arnaz and Ball wanted to adapt Ball's CBS radio series My Favorite Husband to television. The television project eventually became I Love Lucy.

Desilu Productions produce such shows as Star Trek, The Untouchables, Mission Impossible, The Dick Van Dyke Show, My Favorite Martian, Our Miss Brooks, Family Affair, That Girl, I Spy, Hogan Heroes, Family Affair and Mannix.  It was 'rumored' legend that Lucille Ball was racist, but I find that very hard to believe, especially when you stop to think that she helped the careers of Bill Cosby, Nichelle Nichols, Gail Fisher and Greg Morris.  All of them were hired in a less politically correct time in the world.  Lucille Ball was a definite 'Game Changer' making way for Carol Burnett, Mary Tyler Moore, IsaBel Sanford, Bea Arthur, Betty White, Roseanne Barr, Marla Gibbs and many more talented female comics on television.
