Observation - The Billboard Music Awards did a tribute to PRINCE and showcased Madonna and Stevie Wonder many questioned their choices, I wasn't mad. Wonder was PRINCE's Idol and Madonna was his only living contemporary, the other two already transitioned (Michael and Whitney). Almost immediately after the performance the 'shade' started mainly from the BET network, who in the past have had VERY questionable tributes excluding their BET Honors and Black Girls Rock shows.
With that said please no promised performances from Booty calls such as Marsha Ambrosia, Miguel, Janelle Monae or Jussie Smollet, all cool performers, just not worthy yet of the prestige. No Debra Lee or Stephill Hill with long self aggrandizing moments, remember it's about PRINCE. So here's is my list of worthy performers ... Lenny Kravitz, Chaka Khan, Carlos Santana, John Mayer, Esperanza Spalding, Sheila E, The Time, Jimmy Jam, Terry Lewis. Patti LaBelle, Slash, Meshell Ndegeocello, Mavis Staples, Rosie Gaines and Sheena Easton.
BET get out your checkbook pay to play ... PRINCE is deserving of this Honor. Hopefully the network will live up to its trash talk. Oh and BET your welcome in advance. Lastly to Linda Perry ALL art is relevant.
