Congress Woman Maxine Waters
Love Love Love - Congresswoman Maxine Waters. I've loved her since I was a teenager. She always stands her ground.
Rep. Maxine Waters, D-Calif., is anchoring in for a fight with President-elect Donald Trump and has no interest in finding common ground on issues — specifically the rolling back of Dodd-Frank — adding it is a Democratic party flaw of being too "nice" and bending "over backward" to work with people.
"I have no intention of pretending everything is all right, and that we are going to work together," Waters told MSNBC. For me, as the ranking member of the Financial Services Committee, where he said he’s going to bring down Dodd-Frank, and he’s going to get rid of the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau, I am going to fight him every inch of the way."
MSNBC host Jacob Soboroff asked Waters if she agreed with some in her party, like Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer, D-N.Y., who intend to work with the Trump administration to find common ground.
“No, absolutely, I do not agree," she told Soboroff. "I tell you that has been a problem in my party — that when we are in power, we are nice. We bend over backward to work with people.
"Trump has stepped on everybody. He has no respect for his own colleagues, let alone those on the opposite side of the aisle."
Waters went on to claim Trump "has lied," "called names," and said he "proved he can't be trusted" throughout his campaign and amid his transition because "he'll tell you one thing today and another thing tomorrow."
