As the Holiday’s loom, it’s pastures new for Fantasia.
The vivacious vendor of Rock-Soul has taken flight from her longtime label home, RCA Records. A fact further cemented by her absence on their official site.
Sources close to the situation say that the parting was amicable and actually the fulfilment of her contract rather than anything arduous.
It does, however, bring to an end a relationship that dates back to her American Idol win. Indeed, Fantasia’s first three albums were released via J Records, while the following two were issued by RCA after J folded and its roster was absorbed into the Pop focal imprint.
Wasting no time releasing new material, Ms. Barrino is prepping a festive LP named ‘Christmas After Midnight.’
Due via indie label Concord, the set arrives October 6th.

The indie route has worked for some, yet blown up in the face of others.
We must say, though, that it’s a super smart play on Fanny’s part to explore this option with a themed release…first. Thereafter, that should help guide her route – indie or major – for her traditional R&B offerings.
Whatever happens, we’re hoping she finds the right fit that allows her undeniable talent to shine bright for all to see.
