Lotus Flower/TGIF

Hello There, its another Friday and I'm basking in gratitude, just for the opportunity to 'be'. The weekend for most is a time to release, a time to break free, and relax. For this weeks TGIF I'm going to approach my message in hopes of a 'breakthrough'. It is with a heavy heart to acknowledge my disappointment that we're in 2012 and a subject that continues to plague our society, time and time again has reared it's ugly head RACISM and PREJUDICES. Keeping in the theme is to be authentic to whatever our emotions are, in doing so you may come to the realization that at one time or another we've all had a racist thought, or acknowledged a prejudice. This lesson is a collective effort in hopes of healing and awareness. I would be silly If I thought I was treading on new waters.

As Americans we have the luxury of having a charmed life, and I think we've grown accustomed to whatever comfort zones we tend to dwell in. It's basically walking with blinders on, if it's not happening to us, we say nothing, we tend to be oblivious to the ways of the world. Its a very imbecile approach to the greater scope of life. The duty that is thrust upon us as individuals is to seek complete truth and constantly challenge the close minded way of thinking out of our consciousness.

We are a rainbow colored people uniquely beautiful in our on way, and divinely diverse. Just like a Lotus Flower, we're put her to inspire people to continue striving through difficulties and to show compassion, so again we all know racism and prejudices exist. Like a breathtaking flower, we have so many layers and with each petal that fall, we need to free ourselves and cleanse. Maybe it's my naivete or wishful thinking, I truly believe that we can change a wrong, with a new take on a very worn out subject. Let us start by acknowledging our hatreds, fears and bigotry that exist within us and work through the thought process backwards, to pinpoint where the problem began, and approach it from that standpoint. Let the healing begin. RIP Trayvon Martin.

  11. let's save the babies, it begins there, but who really has the right answer to correct wrongs. the hatred in eyes of a racist, is scary. I was chased once by 11 white jocks, I ran for about four hours none stop. It was the longest night of my life, thankfully the couldn't catch me. watching Trayvon's story hurt me deeply.

  12. If we could apply the elements that the all prepretory academy is doing in Chicago for our future young black half the hate would have no relevence, because we would embraced self love. Unfortunately we die by our own. maybe if we value and respect oursevles and each other, then others will take us seriously.
