Poise/TGIF
Happy Friday everyone, ... Let's Talk about It!!If we were to walk backwards, could that possibly correct the wrong turns and mistakes that have set us back, in our lives? Or do we continue to move forward and take ownership of the manifestation that has been ordained for our life. 'Seek and ye shall find' we must press forward, the movement teaches that the days of a slacker are no longer an option. Address, absorb and proceed. We have much work to do. Somehow and someway, we must give more, we must do more. The sacrifice will always be the greatest rewards. Its no longer about what makes you happy, if you honor the Father, happiness blesses you. In your weakest hour, a miracle happens, and sends despair on its way. I walk in faith, its a belief that has come to comfort and secure me.Chose to follow the direction that comes from deepest within you, it will never lead you astray. Thats is the level of your strength, its the part that has great poise and confidence. When 'Idle' we tend to get into a groove, a routine, not necessarily the best thing for us, its with fewest complications. Unfortunately that presumed luxury stagnates your truth, and can really grate on what was once, your ace in the hole. Being open to suggestions is the ability to hear another's view point, when you listen without prejudice, even things you don't agree will prove worthy and beneficial. Theory teaches that some will never understand your walk and point of view, when its unfamiliar, some tend to keep pressing, in hopes of swaying you into things that closely identifies their walk, but are afraid to step out on faith; for its easier to pounce on your parade. Even failure is winning at something, its called taking a chance, whether its politically correct, or about your personal achievement, which just might boil down to being the one left standing alone.

My Thoughts ...
So Beyonce Knowles has won 17 Grammy Awards, Alison Krauss 27, Leontyne Price 19, Aretha 18, Ella Fitzgerald 13, Alicia Keys 12, Chaka Khan 10
Natalie Cole 9, Mary J. Blige 9,Barbara Streisand 8, Rihanna 8, Anita Baker 8, Madonna 7, Gladys Knight 7, Whitney 6, Toni Braxton 6, Janet 6, Mariah Carey 5, Dionne Warwick 5, Donna Summer 5, Celine Dion 5, Sade 4, Diana Ross 0,(excluding her lifetime achievement award).
Her 17 wins seem a little suspect, not denying her gift, but on some level I am. Bare in mind MJ the King of Pop won 13 and Elvis Presley won 3. Seems like the word POLITICS jumps right off the page. Ijs

FINALLY Whitney LIVE!
"Whitney never had a live album," he said. "I really want everyone to know ... exactly why during her time she was considered the greatest contemporary singer in the world.
It was two years ago, on the afternoon of his Grammy eve bash, that he and the rest of the world got the word that Houston died in the very hotel where the party was being held. "It's a revelation to hear her," he said, "but listening to her, the tragedy hits you again, so there are a lot of mixed emotions this brings up.
"I'm going through all these recordings of her performances now, many of which I wasn't at, such as when she was in South Africa," said Davis, 81, dressed business casual this week in a navy V-neck sweater over a white oxford shirt and tie. "It's a revelation: You really hear how astonishing and powerful and compelling she was in a way that wasn't captured on the studio albums or in her movie performances."
Davis said he expects the album to be released this year. He hinted that he might just preview it by playing a video clip for his industry audience on Saturday, which will be attended by heavy hitters from the entertainment industry including Metallica, Gladys Knight, Quincy Jones and Napster founder Sean Parker, to name a few.
Davis, Sony Music's chief creative officer, also has a new album in the works with Aretha Franklin. It's a skill he continues to exploit whether he's working with Franklin, a new album of duets between Carlos Santana and artists from the world of Latin pop and rock or the long-incubating
The big challenge for Davis and his colleagues in the record industry is finding ways to keep their business profitable while coming to grips with the ongoing digital revolution. Justin Timberlake's "The 20/
In addition to overseeing the many new albums in the works, Davis also continues working to stage a revival of Lerner and Loewe's classic musical "My Fair Lady."

Caveat/TGIF
Endings can be the beginning of growth, and it can help give you another chance to rectify wrongs. Chance is a hopeful word it's optimistic. We can say what we will or wont tolerate, but actions speak the clearest truth . We must intentionally seek out to attract things, situations, and people, all aide in our efforts for improvement. Let us remember there is a reason why headlights concentrate on whats ahead, and not behind, the past is now history.
Motives and hidden agendas will rear its ugly head, people eventually reveal themselves and its imperative that you pay attention. The luxury of life is that eventually, the writing on the wall surfaces. Maturity is the ability to walk away unabashedly. Sometime you have to know when its time to let go. Everything isn't for everyone, and that little 'caveat' will bring you the greatest rewards. To leave it all behind will be the hardest task of your life, but ultimately its your life thats on the line. Cutting toxic forces off from you, requires a constant dedication. In death its a final goodbye, unlike someone who you have made a conscious decision to end associations with, that person can appear at anytime. So stay true to your convictions.

Flashback Who's That ...
Rapper Queen Pen came on the scene in 1997. She had all the ingredients to take the music industry by storm. Being an out of the closest lesbian, so there's the controversy angle, the marketing monies were there, a high profile video on all the video music outlets, super 'then' hot producer Teddy Riley. Having been the first artist to be signed to Riley's 'Lil Man' record label, all eyes were on her and paying attention. Her debut was laced with full on top notch production. The project though almost twenty years old STILL stands, and Is still in my constant rotation. It baffles the mind why this record didn't hit, it easily challenged the Hip Hop females like Eve, Foxy, Lil Kim, Trina, Brat, and Charli Baltimore. During my years working in the music industry, the failure or lack of interest to this project, still have me scratching my head. Take a listen to the link http://youtu.be/qVlVi-sm-2M

Heartbreaking ...
This story is devastating and gut wrenching. I was so hoping and praying that young Avonte would be found alive, unfortunately that didn't happen. I send prayers up for his family and as horrific as this story is, In my heart, I know that he's in heaven ... at peace. KK
Body parts found along the shore of the East River in Queens have been matched by DNA to Avonte Oquendo, the teen who went missing more than three months ago, according to the city's chief medical examiner.
The announcement was widely expected for several days, but it still devastated the family of Avonte Oquendo, who was 14 and had a form of autism that made it impossible for him to speak.
Avonte's mother, Vanessa Fontaine, was inconsolable, said her lawyer, David Perecman.
"Now that the inevitable, unfortunately, has occurred, undoubtedly she'll go through a metamorphosis of a sort, and I'm sure she'll get good and angry," he said. Perecman said the family intends to file a wrongful death lawsuit against the city, alleging that school officials failed to monitor the boy or call the police quickly enough when he left the school.
The flow of the East River, which is actually a tidal strait and not a river, changes direction with the tide, so it could have flowed from nearby Avonte's school to the place where the parts were found.
Perecman said the child was last seen on surveillance video in a park right along the water. But, he said, the teen is afraid of water and "doesn't like it." The family doesn't believe he would have voluntarily crossed a shoreline barrier.
Carmen Farina, the city's newly appointed education chancellor, said she was heartbroken.
"As chancellor, I am determined that we learn every lesson we can from this terrible tragedy and do everything in our power to prevent incidents like this from ever occurring again," she said.
The city's law department called the boy's death a tragedy and said its attorneys would review the lawsuit once it's filed.

Get On Up!!
Here's your first look (pictured above) at Chadwick Boseman incarnating James Brown for the upcoming Universal Pictures' biopic titled Get on Up, directed by The Help's Tate Taylor and produced by Brian Grazer and Mick Jagger.
Universal has moved up the release date of its James Brown biopic to August 1, 2014, taking over the slot previously reserved for its 50 Shades Of Grey film adaptation. Get On Up will compete with Disney's wide release of its adaptation of Guardians of the Galaxy on that August release weekend.
Get on Up, which promises a "warts and all" telling of Brown's life story on film, boasts an impressive cast which includes Jill Scott (one of Brown's wives), Dan Aykroyd, Viola Davis (Brown's mom),Octavia Spencer (Brown's aunt), Lennie James (Brown's father), Nelsan Ellis (Bobby Byrd), Tika Sumpter (Yvonne Fair) and Keith Robinson.
Get on Up was penned by Jez Butterworth & John-Henry Butterworth, who wrote the script for Fair Game, which starred Naomi Watts and Sean Penn.
So far, I'm pleasantly surprised at the transformation, since some of us could hardly imagine Boseman in the lead role. It's only a first look however; we're definitely even more curious and really looking forward to seeing more, especially Boseman actually gettin' on up, from the ground up.

Getting Connected
Resolve/TGIF
For every setback, God gives a comeback. If you focus on the negative you're blocking yourself from the positives. Doubt and self pity is toxic, its time to shed old layers, to rid the residue. Its a new year, a new day and a new way to think on stagnant situations. Rain falls on the' just and unjust' if your foundation is solid, storms will be weathered. The forces that are for you, are greater than the ones against you. Look up to the sky, and trust that good is there, and your name is already registered. Double is coming your way, when you have put the preparation in, the luck comes when opportunity presents itself. If you stay ready, the time will come. Im a believer that GOD has a bigger plan and dream for us, than we ever dreamt for ourself.
