Welcome Home Mariah

Mariah Carey did not have the best 2014. Despite releasing a solid late career record, the iconic singer experienced a record low in album sales, with Me. I Am Mariah…The Elusive Chanteuse still sitting at just over 100,000 sold. She also split with husband and father to her children Nick Cannon, but she's ready to start a new page with a new deal, which pairs her once again with L.A. Reid.

Carey was not in the best place in 2003 either, but signing with Island/Def Jam and working with Reid that year resulted in her extremely successful comeback album, The Emancipation Of Mimi. Her new deal is with L.A.'s new home at EPIC records, and while it's not the lucrative offer she was looking for (according to sources, her request for a $3 Million advance was not met), it should ultimately be a better place for her.

Mariah will re-release her 1998 compilation #1s (likely with quite a few new additions, though unfortunately nothing from her last project) later this year. Before then, she'll have a residency at Las Vegas' Caesar's Palace in promotion of the album.
