Flashback Who's That Thursday

Canadian singer Deborah Cox, released her debut CD on September 12, 1995. It was certified gold in the United States, having sold over 500,000 copies.  The album consists of the hit single "Sentimental" (U.S. #27).  It was filled with pop, urban and dance selections.   Her followup CD  'One Wish' released in 1998. The album was certified platinum on the strength of the attention brought to it by the massive crossover hit single "Nobody's Supposed To Be Here" which held the #1 position for 14 weeks on the R&B charts and my personal favorite "It's Over Now".  The album peaked at #72 on the Billboard 200 and #14 on Billboard's R&B/Hip-Hop Albums chart.  The album was certified Platinum.  

Seemingly 'Cox's' career was fully ready to take flight, unfortunately her following three CD's never garnered the attention of her first two releases.  A couple label shifts later, didnt help things either.  

The Canadian turned her attention to Broadway On February 17, 2004, she made her Broadway debut in the Elton John-Tim Rice musical Aida.  Cox currently lives in Miami, Florida. She is married to her high school sweetheart and manager, Lascelles Stephens.  They have three children: son, Isaiah (born July 1, 2003), and two daughters, Sumayah (born June 29, 2006), and Kaila Michelle (born February 23, 2009).  These days she in the process of recording a dance CD and continues to your across the country on spot dates.
