Masterpieces
Singer, Songwriter, Actor, Producer Sting started out as a schoolteacher at St. Paul's First School in Cramlington for two years. As a musician Sting has varied his musical style, incorporating distinct elements of rock, jazz, reggae, classical, new-age, and worldbeat into his music. As a solo artist and member of The Police, Sting has received 16 Grammy Awards for his work, receiving his first Grammy for Best Rock Instrumental Performance in 1980, a Golden Globe, an Emmy Award, and several Oscar nominations for Best Original Song. He was inducted into the Songwriters Hall of Fame in 2002 and the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame as a member of The Police in 2003. In 2000, he received a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame for recording. He was named to the International Best Dressed List Hall of Fame in 2001. "Nothing Like The Sun" is my favorite of Sting's catalog, it was released in 1987, including the hit songs "We'll Be Together", "Fragile", "Englishman in New York", Sister Moon" and "Be Still My Beating Heart", dedicated to his mother, who had recently died. It eventually went Double Platinum. With art its timeless, and though "Sun" is almost 30 years old, its still relevant today, pure brilliance!
