A Final Resting Place for King of Pop

Today millions mourn at the funeral/memorial for our most revered entertainer Michael Jackson. Jackson passed on June 25-2009, almost two weeks ago. His passing is a hard pill to swallow, as I'm sure it will continue to be for a long time to come. I don't know anyone on this earth in the last forty years, that this genius music hasn't touched. It's a rare artist that can make you forget color lines. Someone who can help erase your troubles, and comfort you on those lonely days. Michael Jackson was such an artist.

I never knew the man personally, but believe me when I tell you, I lost a brother and a friend(as did America). In my life Michael Jackson's music was always a part of my soundtrack. The irony of it all, is this, to not have touched or conversed with this man, and to have these feelings that have overwhelmed me for almost two weeks is mind boggling. It truly speaks to the huge loss that the Jackson family must be feeling, and to have this immeasurable void, now in their lives. I pray to God that he'll will protect our first family. For African Americans, they were 'our' version of the Kennedys.

Michael thank you for all that you've given us, your voice, your legacy, your time, your hard work, your dilligence, your dedication, your genuine heart and of course those fluid one of kind dance moves. I'm happy to say that I got to spend time with your music during your journey here on earth. Of course your music will live on. The biggest thrill was that I got to witness your genius in my lifetime. Ive often said it, and I'll say it again ....there will NEVER EVER BE ANOTHER...Michael Jackson EVER! I wish your peace.

  5. You never realize what you've got until it's gone. Sleep well Michael, you left a mark on all of our lives and not many people can say that they have done that. There will never be another who can be even a fraction of what you were.

  6. I am so very very sad that the World has lost Michael. I feel as if a part of my family is gone and my heart is crushed. We weren't ready to say goodbye. You live on through your talents and I know you will be able to rest now, but ohh this is painful to let you go.

  10. this world without Michael, I can't stop crying........Michael made u feel better about yourself, if only for a few minutes his music transforms me.... the videos I play, but I dare not listen or my heart might explode....I'm not over this tragedy.I have a MJ concert in my ears 24hours a day-can barely breath.. I want that DR to pay for what he did to the greatest entertainer of OUR generation, and MY Life-I would have ripped out my heart and gave it to Michael so that he should live...in pain

  13. Michael was not appreciated by the ones who would call him a molester, and talk about his physical appearance's and just badger the man instead of focusing on the great he has done. He paved the way for every single artist after him and he made ways for the videos we watch today ever since thriller. He is finally at peace and living in complete pain free without the worlds critism. He was let down by some of his fans and look at him now. ILY Michael

  14. One the greatest, I wish people would just focus more on his accomplishments. Yes he had issues, some more severe than others. But we all dealin with issues of some sort. The truth is he was a excellent musician who left this earth to soon. I hope people can learn from what happen to him. So his death will not be in vain.

  15. I cried and cried when it was offical that Michael passed away. I couldnt figure out why I have been so sad. Then my mom said to me, His music was like a soundtrack to my childhood. She was right, and because of him I got into the music buisness. I wonder how many others were inspired in such a way. I'm just sorry he isnt here to see how many people loved him. I hope he is in a better place.

  16. Kevin,
Thanks for another great article. I'm shocked that you let your vulnerable come through, on how you really felt about MJ. I think that speaks VOLUMES about the effect that he had on people in general. What you said here, is how I think most people are feeling. R.I.P. Michael Jackson...you will never be forgotten.

  24. Really still cannot believe he has gone forever. It is still too stunning to believe. I was not a fan, but he did bring out some rocking rocking tunes. He even touched my life though his music as people I knew always had a MJ track on in the car, or at home. I think that even people who were not his fans he touched in some little way. His music will live on forever.
