Supremes together again .... the 'Someday' came!
Motown on Broadway opened this week. It's about Motown and it's glorious heyday. The house was packed with Legendary Motown artists that included Diana Ross, Gladys Knight, Stevie Wonder, Berry Gordy, Smokey Robinson, Mary Wilson and many others. It was a sold out crowd. The biggest part of this story, and it almost overshadows the play was the fact that Diana Ross and Mary Wilson was in the same room together AND took pictures together. This was the first time since the two woman were seen together since Motown 25 Reunion special in 1983. If you'll recall Mary Wilson wrote a mean spirited tell all book called "Dreamgirls-My Life As A Supreme". She took liberty at trying to expose Diana Ross vulnerabilities and Diva ways.

ReplyDeleteDiana Ross is a good business woman. Given Mary the same opportunities, she would have jumped at the chance to bed Berry Gordy. What is not widely talked about is Diana Ross giving Mary Wilson 30 grand to save her house from being foreclosed on, or the fact that when Mary's son passed away. Who was the first person who called her. The Supremes reunion failed because the promoters wanted to pay Diana a well deserved 20 million while Mary was to receive 4 million, which is clearly more than she has earned in the last 20 years. It seems easier for the world to pick on Diana.
