My friend Ame Williams passed away today. We met in 1991. We shared many triumphs, laughs and heart ships. Ame was very special, she always made time for me, and she was so willing to be a dynamic friend. Her spirit was very quiet and unassuming, her intelligence and hunger for knowledge was always present wherever she went. Friendship is one of the only things that we get to choose. I'm a much better and wiser man, because of my friendship with Ame. She taught me about tenderness and sensitivity.
Wherever we go next, I'm sure Ame is there with my Mother, Michael Jackson and so many other's that have impacted our lives along the way. I encourage everyone to take many moments to share love with people who matter most to you. We're not promised a happy ending, the present moment is all we have. Ame and I spoke last week, and she seemed to be in a good place, and we reminisced about our crazy lives,and the crazy good times that we shared. She was there for me, when my mother was diagnosed with Ovarian Cancer, and she was a trojan in helping my mother make her transition, and she provided much tenderness, support and laughter through a horrific ordeal.
Amelia (Ame) Williams, rest in peace. Your memory will forever live on with me, and all the friendships that you touched with your generous heart and grace.

ReplyDeleteI'm so sorry to hear about Ame. I know how close you two were. This year has been horrific with all the deaths. Know that God doesn't give you anymore than you can bare. Ame had struggles, but was such a beautiful soul. May she rest in peace, and I pray for her family's strength.

youtube video. We did have some good times, hell we had some great times. She
will truly be missed among all of us I am sure.
Im Sorry to hear that horrible news. I know I havent't talk to Ame lately

with a good heart and an infectous laugh. She was always good at making people
feel at ease in tense situations. My condolences go out to all of her friends
and family. May her beautiful smile shine brightly on all of us.
Thank you so so much Kevin... Ame's smile, her gentle voice and her sense of humor and beautiful spirit will remain with me... she will not be forgotten... she will be celebrated.

ReplyDeleteThis is a blue Tuesday for me as well..My condolences are well beyond the unthinkable...I am sooooo shocked, its like I can't believe it - STILL!. I truly, truly hope that you will be alright, because she was so near and very dear to you....Likewise, but with less heartfelt, but with much uncondional love.....I looked up to Ame as my big sister, although we were distant, but it did'nt matter, because we bonded from the very first moment...I truly again, will miss her....I loved her!!!!!!

I am so sorry to hear that. One of the things I'll always love Ame for is the way she took care of your mother when she was ill, as if she were her own. Her loyalty to you was admirable and she displayed the type of unconditional love that’s often talked about but seldom seen.
ReplyDeleteI use to say that Ame had the ways of a beautiful woman, and I think we can now see how true that is, because she’s spirit now.
I won’t try to quantify your loss but I want you to know that I care and that will never change.
