7 Life Sentences .... Justice Served!!!
Jared Loughner -- the guy who shot Rep. Gabrielle Giffords -- has just received SEVEN LIFE SENTENCES for last year's Arizona shooting, in which he killed 6 people and injured 13 more ... plus an additional 140 YEARS.
24-year-old Loughner pled "guilty" in August after being treated for his schizophrenia.
The shooting took place back on January 8, 2011 in Tucson. Loughner opened fire in a Safeway parking lot, where Rep. Giffords was holding a constituents meeting. Giffords and her husband -- along with several other victims -- were present in court for Loughner's sentencing.
Her husband Mark Kelly addressed Loughner in court, saying, "You may have put a bullet through her head, but you have not put a dent in her spirit, and her ability to do good."
Loughner was originally charged with 49 criminal counts including first-degree murder. Today, he was sentenced for 19 counts, including attempted assassination, 1st degree murder of 2 federal employees, and attempted murder of 2 federal employees. The remaining counts were dismissed.
Loughner will not get the death penalty.
Giffords last appeared publicly at the 2012 Democratic National Convention.
